So I've done some research already but i would like a straightforward correct answer, are orange tips on the end of your gun required by Michigan law? I would really like to buy a mock silencer but im not willing to get fined and arrested for doing it. Thanks to all who answer

It's completely legal to remove the orange tip. Technically it's required when you're transporting it but if you have it in a gun bag in an inaccessible location (trunk of a car) you're good to go. As long as your treat it with the respect that you'd give a real firearm, you'll have no issues.

Federal law requires an orange top be installed when a business buys/sells a replica. You are 100% ok to remove the orange tip.
