I know this could create some issues but as much as possible try to keep drama out of this thread. Lets keep it constructive so that hopefully we can improve our community this year.
What are some of your goals for MIA? What would you like to see more of?
I'll start off with some of the things I would like:
Move to a new site where we can have a fully functional commerce section again (hopefully sooner than later) and that the mods would get to some kind of agreement on this asap.
I'd like to see more of the members who are really involved with the community both online and in person become moderators and get rid of the moderator status for those members who haven't even logged in for the past year.
It would be awesome to get access to more GOOD fields both indoors and outdoors. The last few years have been limiting although its slowly getting better.

I have not been on the forum very long but here is what I would like to see going into the future:
1: More experienced players posting more frequently on the Tales of Valor section. 2: Like what M.S.-ARC said about having a fully functional commerce section. 3: Make someway that when you first join the site a pop up shows that has all of the basic rules. 4: Have a more complete data-base of all of the teams and fields in the state.
Those are my thoughts...

I'd love to see more fields around mid michigan, then I'd be able to get out more and hang out with the people on the forums. I'd love to get out to one of Mosin's events, haven't gotten to yet and that's been bothering me since it's one of the closest fields to me.
New forum would be nice too, get us off this one. It's been a great place but a new board would be nice, one with a good commerce section.

1. Commerce section 2. A field review section where members can post pictures and information about a field so other players can get an idea of what the field looks like, what amenities it has and information like that. 3. More participation from members on the forum. 4. More outdoor airsoft fields.

1: Commerce
2: Field Reviews
3: Mod status to respected members that log on a MINIMUM of once a day (preferably multiple times).
4: Increase in MiA teams going to National Ops. My butt buddies and I are going to several national ops this year, and getting a whole platoon of MiA guys would be the bee's knees.
5: Increase in community awareness. What I mean by that is encouraging everybody at games to get on the forums. Atleast 1/2 of guys I talk to aren't on. We should spread this community whenever possible.
6: Yearly MiA patches. Since our possible move site won't be free, it would be awesome if we did a yearly fundraiser through patches. I would be willing to pay $15 a year for a patch, especially if all the proceeds went to keeping the community alive.
7: Revamp of the Newbie section. A lot of the information there is outdated, and it would be much simpler if we consolidated (and stickied) all new threads with relevant, up to date info.
8: Moar wolfgeorge gun porn.
9: Arrange a winter CQB game or two. I personally have come to hate my local CQB place, not because of the field or ownership (which both have seen leaps and bounds in recent months), but because the people that play there. I understand that events have been shaky in the past, but I personally think we as a community should give it another try. If we get enough, we can reserve indoor fields for the night, and not have to deal with regulars who desregard basic safety.
10. More beards.

It would be a good way too raise revenue for our (hopefully) new site. Pm me on your ideas on the newbie section stuff. I should be able to play around with the settings for that section.

I liked your list, and wanted to respond on points 4) and 10) . 4) The largest turnouts that I have seen from our community to national events have only been when they are in our home state. Which is obvious why. We saw around 100+ people from the community attend Northern Light in 2012 and 2013 when it was hosted in Trenton. The turnout wasn't as great at Grayling, back in August but it wasn't bad. Hopefully with a couple LC Ops happening in bordering states and a possible return of Blacksheep to Grayling this year, we can see this kind of coordination once again. When we attend events as a community, we kill it. There's no doubt about that. However what it needs is someone to step up and coordinate getting everyone together. 9) Again, this takes someone stepping up and saying "Hey let's do an MIA CQB Game". That might entail setting up a private party to ensure it's only MIA members only, or simply getting a team dedicated to setting something up and informing the rest of the community. Now there's FB groups too to post this information in if it's one of the FB groups that has MIA members so that helps spread the word out.

I would like to see some kind of annual social function, something similar to a company picnic or potluck.I think that would give the community[statewide] a chance to schedule in advance an opportunity to get together and socialize and promote a legitimate, mature and growing sport.

I don't post a ton, but I figure now is my chance. I'm all for the yearly patch idea. I bought one of the last patches released from ARC awhile back and always wear it on my kit. I get so many comments on it, and I always tell them to check out the forums and give them the website. Especially if we "officially" move to a new site, a nice patch like the last one but maybe with the website stitched on it would really help spread the word and broaden the wealth of information and participation on a fresh start up. It's also nice to see and be able to identify fellow members on the field. The patch makes it so easy to connect with people.
My biggest wish, which is a bit of a stretch, is for some place to play near Grand Rapids, or at least within 25-30 min of it. There is a sizable community here, and I know many people that play in "backyards" or with their friends, but they have no desire to travel an hour to Kzoo or Muskegon. I thought I saw something about a possible field in Coopersville, which would be great. Unless that actually comes through and succeeds, there is a whole market just sitting around waiting here. Luckily for me gas is cheap, for now, too bad its getting too cold for me and my gas basters.

Canto and I are working on that, expect to hear more about this in the coming weeks and months, we are ALMOST ready to go public with the event.

This is a great idea. - A Fully Functioning Commerce section. I miss being able to sell my stuff to this community.
- I definitely would like to see a refreshed moderator list.
- Field review section is a GREAT idea.
- Traveling/carpools/etc to National Ops would be nice. Let's represent our beautiful state.
- Patches
- I also believe the newbie section needs to be spruced up a bit. I'd love to help in any way possible.
- I believe an "airsoft campout" Like what Ogre/Canto is planning is a fantastic idea. I think we need to do everything we can to bring us together just to shoot the shit.
- Lastly, I think we need to do everything we can to keep the fields we utilize in tip top shape. I know this takes effort and physical labor, but it's something that needs to be done. I know from the AAR that Bangor has been suffering recently. I'm sure there are other areas that could use help as well.
I'd love to see the MI airsoft community flourish. I do however agree that maybe it is time to leave proboards behind. Whatever the solution ends up being, I'm sure I'll still be here.

Basically i'd like to see everything above.
Also Spring 2015 may bring a new outdoor field pending on how things go, I don't wanna say to much but lets say this field will be modeled with what you guys want in a field!

Commerce section in a new site (if one is found) is almost a must. Possibly one that also is able to allow sale of real steel items. I'm not necessarily talking guns per say, but more of accessories. I know I have a whole bin of random stuff I don't use just collecting dust cause nowhere to sell it off.
A purge of user accounts that are inactive or have only been logged in a few times long ago, say for instance, 5 years ago. Just clicking on the members tab at the top there are hundreds that aren't even in use.
Maybe a dedicated Military section. We have a strong presence in the military across the branches and I have received several pm's from people inquiring. Maybe a more public place for all this could do some good to those looking to serve in the future so they can ask publicly and get a spectrum of answers from more than just one person, and if one person doesn't know something there is sure to be others looking for the same answer. We have a single thread now, but in time it will get cluttered and hard to find an answer for something or things will start to get repetitive.
