So I've been looking at changing the tip on my G&G combat machine raider, im aware that it is legal to paint over it but I would rather just cover it up with a mock silencer. My question is would I have to fully remove the flash hider tip to put the silencer on? If so how would I do so without damaging it, because it appears to be unattacheable.

I know the KAC suppressors and some other ones fit over the bird cage suppressors, but for thread-on suppressors, you'll have to remove the flash hider. I've hears various ways. Some guys boil their tip to loosen the glue, others use a dremel. I personally didn't have a dremel. The G&G has a pin you have to remove on the flash hider in order to remove it, so I just shredded my flash hider with a knife to get the small pin out with plyers, then twisted the tip off with the plyers. Really damaged the flash hider, but at least it was off.

KAC's need their own type of flash hider. Most (if not all) replica's will come with their own.

Make sure to not damage the threads and that you are twisting the right way! (Positive is clock wise, negative is counter clock wise)

Yea! I did basically the same thing as Abbot, but twisted the flash hider the wrong direction. However, since the hider is made of plastic the threads remained intact. really no way to save the old orange tip on G&G raider.

Just grab a hair drier and hold it up to the orange tip and wait for about 10 minutes then screw it off the way its threads go. That is how my friend and I got the orange tip off of his gun. That is probably the easiest way I know of.

Guys,
This thread was dead for almost two months. Please watch the dates on threads and don't necro post.
