I"m sure in a couple months someone will start the LC OP: Homeland event thread and it'll most likely get posted in the Event Planning section. This is where we do our planning and coordinating such as deciding which team everyone will want to go on. If we decide to go as a community and all roll on the same team, we'll do so. But we typically wait for more details and most importantly wait until they announce who will be commanding each side before we usually make our decision. A lot of the time those details don't get posted until a month or two before the event itself. So there's not much to discuss for the event yet.

I know that my little group of butt buddies (carnage, evanvanwormer, thefriendlyarab, and several non-MiA players) and heading to OP Homeland, Shahrazad, and potentially TOP. I just moved to VA, so Sharazad is one we are going to be able to be able to swing. I have no problem opening up my home for a night so people have a place to stay beforehand, but that can be discussed on a later thread when the event is closer.
We went to TOP in November, and while it was insane, it was essentially a massive force on force game. It was the AO that made it incredible. This TOP has a juvie complex as the AO, and I vuagly remember a game being held at a juvie complex a few years back, and from what I remember, guys said it was basically chokepoints trading fire the whole time. If anyone who went to that game can chime in and provide advice on that AO, that would be great. I would love to go this year, but I'm worried about that AO.

Pretty much every LC OP that I have been to is a massive force on force event. Doesn't mean it's not fun, however. Additionally, OP Lightning Strike back in May was hosted at the former Scioto Juvenile Correctional facility. I attended it with SK as did some other teams from Michigan. The AO was cool. There's an AAR thread probably in the AAR section if you want more information on how that game turned out, and what the AO was like. There's also a some pictures posted there as well. miairsoft.proboards.com/thread/49775/aar-operation-lightning-strike-2014

A lot of us went to lightning strike last year at Scioto Juvie. It was a lot of choke points inside the cell blocks but outside the buildings it was wonderful. Rooftop shooters made it interesting to move from building to building.
