This is going to be a general over view of the g&d dtw. Im making this because there are a few reviews but lots are in different languages and i want to be able to answer questions people have unlike some other reviews. (by the way if this is in the wrong thread sorry)
What is included: The gun, set of flip up kac iron sights, two flash hiders, extra o rings, mag, unjamming rod/bb loader
EXTERALS
-Flash hider: They give you two flashiders, one really ugly blazing orange and in a small bag they have a few o rings for the gun aswell as a nice black flash hider 14mm- threading so most aeg flish hiders will fit.
-Outer barrel: The outer is very nice, no wiggle at all it looks to be steel however im sure it is pot metal.
-Rail: I bought the mk18 version and it comes with a Daniel Defense style tan rail, its slightly off in color but it serves its purpose and is nice minus the color difference.
-Body: The body is made of some sort of pot metal most likely, it resembles a g&p body. It has a nicely laser etched Marine corps logo with serial number and 5.56 trades. The mag release, bolt release, and fire selector are a grey to resemble steel however they have seam lines and probably arent steel.
-Grip: The motor grip is an abs plastic and has seam lines but looks fine to me.
-Buffer tube and stock: The buffer tube is an odd dark grey metallic color but looks kinda cool. The outside of the stock is very nice but when opened there are tons of seam lines and plastic from the manufacturing process.
INTERNALS
-Ecu, and mosfet: I got the most current version of the DTW and in burst. The ecu is programmable from semi and auto, Or semi and 1-30 round burst. The new mosfet has been shortened so you can fit a lipo in the stock however it protruded a little but no big deal.
-Gears: The gears seem fairly nice, iv put about 1-2 thousand rounds through it so far and no wear they land in the same spot everytime so no complaint there.
-Motor: This is where the dtw shines, the dtw motor is said to be one of the best stock motors in a TW platform and i dont disagree Its very nice and has a very crisp trigger pull.
- inner barrel, bucking, and hopup: Previously all i have heard about the dtw is its good but once you get it throw away the barrel and buy a new one. I disagree, the barrel came very dirty so i cleaned it and started shooting. With .25's This gun is a laser beam I didnt even have to adjust the hopup or anything out of the box and it was sailing 200 feet.
-Cylinder: The cylinder is very nice, not too over lubed and is much more affordable at $60
Final thoughts: After owning a systema and now this g&d i feel like the g&d wins. It is affordable and a very solid gun, I haven't found any problems with it at all which surprises me for being around the $400 price range.
If you have any questions please pm me or write one below, The main purpose of this guide was to give a little bit of info on the gun so you didnt have to gamble your money like i did, however it all worked out in the end and i love this gun.
