For awhile I have been looking at purchasing a VFC Scar SSR but haven't had the money, I soon will though. I thought I was set than found out that WE is producing a SCAR SSR aeg as well now. Their are no real review of the WE SCAR SSR that I can find, does anyone know which is better, the VFC or the WE Tech, or can anyone point me to a reliable good review of the WE? Any help is appreciated.

WE has a new line of AEG SCARs out. That's what he is referring to.

From a guy who owns a VFC MK17 CQC, same thing just the short, CQC variant, I can say that the actual external construction is essentially flawless. What I mean is that the externals are robust as well as being metal where they should and poly where it should. Also, there is typically very very little wobble in their guns, I've heard of some external wobbling arising over long use but not many on initial purchases. It should be noted that I am a guy whom likes to tune my rifle in with aftermarket parts to make it more of what I desire it to be though. As for the build quality of WE MK17s, can't say that I've ever held one just seen the gas MK16s here and there.
I would assume the VFC to be more to spec and overall nicer quality, due to their reputation in the community and with myself. What it should come down to is what your looking for in the overall internal and external build quality. Do some more research, comparing like MK17 varients (VFC CQC to WE CQC) to see how they size up against each other both inside and out. It should be safe to assume that the internal gearbox quality does not change too much, if at all, over the changes in the barrel and upper receiver. Once you do that, I feel that you'll have about the right information to help you decide.
Just again though, I haven't even been in the same room as a WE MK17 aeg before.

Thanks for the help, as I'm going to be upgrading this gun to make a true DMR out of it, so internals are less of a concern, however if their is any internal advantage to the WE? They have the spring tension release, is that a gimmick or is it actually a good thing that benefits the gun. The only review i could find on the WE only covered the externals and was very brief even on that, they said the upper receiver was very shiny, that was about it, didn't even mention the bolt or the stock. I believe i am going to go with VFC because of their reputation and the quality of the externals, however i was curios if their is some inherent advantage to the WE.

Spring detention is always a nice feature. It helps prolong the life of your spring, as long as you detent after each day of play/use.

This a review of the DBoys, not VFC, as well, I've seen his reviews of the VFC SCAR's before, he appears to be the only one out of all the people who did in depth reviews who disliked the VFC at all. Thank you non the less for the help, i did learn from this review that Dboy Scar mags are compatible with VFC so that's good.

I mean I'm a VFC guy for externals, but thats just me. There are many other good brands, but it seems that your delema is more or less how much you wanna pay for you're external setup

VFC.
WE H mags are proprietary, AKA the WE wont fit the more "commonly" found VFC/Dboys/Magpul mags. Not to mention that if your going to be doing internal work and you happen to come across an anomaly in the WE, you have little to no helpful internal information about it.
Background: I've owned 3 VFC Scar H's and currently have a Dboys. Havent had the chance to mess with a WE.
