I'm not going to re-state what others have said already, but I 100% agree with what Deacon, Pagan and Gimp have said.
I effectively stopped posting here quite awhile ago as I've watched these forums waste away, I'm also done with it. Peace.

As you know I am 100% behind Michigan6mm. I've been trying to sort of act as public relations while Deacon was doing the heavy lifting on setting up MI6mm.
Like everybody has said, and I have said before... We aren't out to ruin MiA. We aren't out to cut off the current mods because we don't like them. Some mods here have taken up Deacons offer on MI6mm. Yes, there are some new mods on MI6mm, and that came from our testing phase of the forum. I'm not exactly sure who in this community would be opposed to any of the mods in place right now, but if you are opposed, please be vocal and bring it up. We would love the feedback, and are doing everything we can to try to give the community what they want.
This is not Kristallnacht.
I know my history is short on MiA, and if that is a reason not to trust me, I encourage you to get to know me. I may not have been around for the old days of MiA, but I am very aware of the current situation, which is why I have joined with Deacon in the fix that we saw necessary. I'm not going anywhere for a long time. I'm invested in the future of this sport in Michigan. Give it a shot. MiA will always be here, and I'm certain Michigan6mm will always be a part of the future of Michigan Airsoft if people give it a shot.

I think a personal attack on someone's character for trying to do something nice for the community is uncalled for and childish. What specifically about my post was a personal attack? Everything about his lack of "experience" I suppose you could perceive it as was airsoft related obviously, not his personal life (the owning land bit). Deacon, I didn't know about your second account, but even after bringing it up I'm still not 100% sure we've ever personally met, this doesn't make you untrustworthy, it just means there is another face without a name out there. A lot of people from the airsoft community have added me on Facebook, so I know that we're friends, I personally don't care about retaining any sense of power as having less just makes me have to do less work, and the only reason I took it here was I noticed there was really only one guy doing anything, and we're reaching that point now where some of the older mods don't even play anymore. As long as I can still post events up on forums to be able to host I'm happy, and it seems your board offers that. Having it cost money means it'll always be a "burden" on you, so unlike this forum where Hado could literally walk away for a decade, you'll always be tied to it. Is there any plan setup for 5-10 years from now when you walk away from bb warz for good?

Regardless, if you look at other privately hosted airsoft sites like AO (Airsoft Ohio), Airsoft Indiana, and others, in terms of appearance and features, they make MIA look antiquated and severely dated. We all know this. We have a great community here and I for one don't want to see it break apart. Only through solidarity can we make a strong and great community that people want to participate in. I would just like to see MIA as a community move to a better forum where we can once again have a commerce section and everything else under one roof. I applaud Deacon for stepping up and taking action in hearing others' feedback and putting in his own time and money to make an airsoft forum. If you guys want to re-open the commerce section and only sell gear and other accessories but no replicas so we don't violate ProBoards TOS, go ahead. But it's not a long term solution. But I'd like to see action taken rather than nothing being done at all.

Is there any plan setup for 5-10 years from now when you walk away from bb warz for good? This is the part I don't understand. The funding will be coming from fundraisers, possibly in the form of apparel and patches as well as hosting field days and raffles. The funding options are near limitless. The start-up cost I was willing to eat. I'm not worried about it. Also. I'm absolutely tired of hearing that excuse over and over and over when I've provided the same answer over and over and over. Assuming there's Players, there will always be funding. This isn't complicated and the fear tactic of "what happens if X." I understand it but it's completely assnine that it be used over and over along with stalling and ignoring someone invested in our hobby. MiA will always be here and going forward so will Michigan 6mm.

Well...I made an account. I'd be perfectly fine with a switch as long as we get plenty of people to move.

I've only been on MiA a few short years but every single year as airsoft starts to slow down for the off season people get real... bitchy. Be it politics, Da Vinci or whatever else, everyone seems to get up in arms about something. This thread seems to be the hot topic this year. So I need everyone to remember a couple things going forward.
1. Most of us wouldn't know mosin from squirrel from stinger if we saw them on the field.
2. Tone does not come across well on the Internet.
3. We are all here for the same reason, to build and support airsoft in Michigan.
Thank you.

Hey! I know all three of those people on the field. I haven't really had issues with finding who people are on the field. Funny but not the point. Not everyone knows everyone's history on MiA. Sent from my SCH-I545 using proboards

Hey! I know all three of those people on the field. I haven't really had issues with finding who people are on the field. Funny but not the point. Not everyone knows everyone's history on MiA. Sent from my SCH-I545 using proboards I suppose that's true. But it's all here. If you want to know, you can find it. If you want to know that Mosin played World of Warcraft, you can go and see that if you dig far enough. I can't really sympathize if someone complains that they don't know anything about anyone here. The first thing I did when I joined was to go back and start reading random threads from seven years ago. You learn a lot that way. 1. Most of us wouldn't know mosin from squirrel from stinger if we saw them on the field. Or in my case, I can't tell Mosin from Marshy. That's a problem.

Or in my case, I can't tell Mosin from Marshy. That's a problem.[/quote] Just an inside joke from firestorm, I associated Mosin with a beard but he had shaved, Marshy had one so I kept calling him Mosin, and it led to a lot of people fucking with me. Pretty sure Canto couldn't contain his laughter.

My .02cents: I made an account on MI6MM the other day. To be honest, I really like it. The forum layout works well and the forum as a whole seems to have a lot of future potential.
I have no intentions of starting bbwarz drama but in my honest opinion (for whatever its worth) I would have no problem making the forum switch, and that is coming from someone who was initially opposed to the idea of changing forums.

My original point was for everyone to calm their mammaries and proceed with civility but that was ignored in favor of picking my point apart. Obviously not all the information is here. Deacon is a prime example of that. Just everyone chill out and it'll be alright. It's not the end of the world, just a momentary inconvenience.
Back on topic, I'm going to go where the games are posted as commerce wasn't ever a big thing for me. I'll make an account on MI6 because they have a commerce section. Hell, I'll make an account on whatever major forum pops up.
Edit: Nobody else seems to be asking permission so I'm going to build a backup MiA on a firearms friendly hosting site. I don't care if it gets used. I'll do my best to replicate information based sticky threads on the backup from MiA and any that arise on MI6. I'll release the Web address when I feel it is ready. Mod names and privileges will be reserved for MiA staff that want them. This is not to compete with MI6MM but to insulate the information of both sites from total loss in the event of deletion by Pb or loss of hosting ability by MI6MM staff.

I think, and this is my two cents, between the two Forums MiA and MA6mm (3 if you count the SE-MAP one no one uses), and the numerous facebook groups we have, MIA, SE-MAP, M.A.S.S., MCA, ect. As a community we are stronger then ever, MiA the forum serves as our database but we have to accept it MAY not always be around depending on how Proboards TOS changes, I may be still new to the community but I believe that whatever happens to MiA we will get through it as a community united around our hobby. I for one have no anomocity towards any of the groups, granted there are people I don't get along with, but that's not gonna make me think any less of the great community as a whole. Instead of any infighting because of different forums we just gotta work together to push through this. And that's all I really have to say about it.
