The compression is absolutely perfect at the gearbox. I'll try the stock piston setup.

Try putting the stock motor back in it. It is much weaker and if overspin is the problem the weaker motor should stop it from happening. Are you 100% sure you are not actually firing 2 shots when the barrel is empty? The slightly lower resistance from not firing a bb could be just enough to let the gears overspin enough to let it pop off a second shot instead of leaving it compressed. The only logical explanation has to be overspin. If the bb fires the the piston has completed 1 entire stroke and the only way it can end up compressed again is for something to push it back again, that would be the motor and the gears. I would think that your motor is too powerful for the weak spring, order the M150 and I bet your problem goes away. Double check to make sure your cutoff lever is able to freely move.

I think that you guys are right. It is likely overspin. The cutoff lever moves fine, and putting the stock piston back in changed nothing. I will try the stock motor. The new spring is already in possession of the owner, he just has yet to give it to me.
I never got a double-cycle in semi-auto though.

I had similar issues with my Echo1 M4. I found that the Prowin hopup did not mate well with the stock outer barrel. This allowed some travel with hopup that caused lost compression. When I loaded a magazine into the magwell it would cause the hopup to be pulled slightly forward away from the air nozzel. Pulling and pushing on the mag while firing can test this. After changing the stock outer barrel to a more suitable fit, adding a barrel spring, using a plastic air nozzel, and replacing the tappet plate, I found this correted the problem. I am currently using a Matrix 3000 with a 120 spring, and I have completely abandoned the stock gears. You can really chase your tail with this gearbox, and you may never be completely happy. One good thing about this gearbox, it will help you become more knowlegeable in future endeavours. Best of luck.

You guys were right, the issue was overspin. I replaced the motor with the stock one and it's fine. When I put in the M150, that will fix it and allow the upgrade motor to be used. Thanks
