Hello, I am thinking of upgrading to a gas blow back version of my replica. Curently I own G&G combat machine raider, and I am looking to sell that and upgrade to a gas blowback cm16, which is nearly the same gun except gas. I have a couple questions, what exactly makes a gas blow back better? Is the trigger response better? Rate of fire? Is it more accurate? It defintley looks like much more fun to shoot. My second question is where to find mags, currently I can only find them for $50 each, and since theh only hold 30 bb's I would like about 6 total. Is there any place that sells them cheaper? Thanks a lot!

Trigger Response and they are more fun to shoot, in every other way, they are pretty inferior to AEG's.

This thread was very helpful actually. I like the point when someone said that with the total cost with mags you will have almost enough for a polar star. I may just invest in one instead, my only problem is that there is not much realism with them

Their is realism in DGs if your willing to take the possible technical difficulties.

I love my GBBRs. I started out with one KJW M4 a few years ago and fast forward to now, I own 3 of them and I've significantly reduced the number of AEGs I own. My gas guns are definitely my primaries now. I love the realism and I love the reactions I get when I shoot them. Usually in the middle of a firefight people stop and see what's making all that noise. It doesn't have the rate of fire that AEG's have and most magazines will only hold 30 rounds but its well worth it. One major drawback to GBBRs though is that you won't really be able to use them during the winter unless you are playing indoors. Cold weather is still a problem for most GBBRs which is why I held on to a handful of AEGs. As with all Gas guns, the guns are really only as good as their magazines. If your mag doesn't hold gas well or doesn't hold enough gas, then your gun is worthless because it either won't shoot or won't last long. That being said KJW made one of the most reliable GBBR magazines out there. They are very easy to maintain, they hold a lot of gas (at least two magazines worth), and they rarely if ever leak. I've had magazines that still have gas from last spring 6 months ago. Another reason why I'm partial to the KJW is it is super easy to maintain. Parts are cheap and easily available from KJW and usually arrive within a week or two if ever you wanted to replace anything. The externals are also real steel compatible. The thing I love the most is that I can change the FPS of the gun to whatever I want it to be using the cradle upgrades. Also I have one extra bolt so changing a guns FPS is as easy as swapping out a bolt. I can go from 350 to 450 in a matter of 5 seconds. You can only do that with a PTW. You can also do that with a polarstar or a DG but you have to deal with a cord and an external tank which I don't think I'll ever get used to. Anyways, here's a bunch of helpful links if ever you wanted to know more about the KJW m4: miairsoft.proboards.com/thread/46315/ultimate-source-links-info-kjwAlso there is someone on commerce right now selling one with 6 mags and cradle upgrades and a whole bunch of other extras for $300. If I didn't already have 3, I would buy that myself. It's a steal.

When I see people with a gbbr I always turn my head and look! Anyway I orderd a we msk for a very good price. I am considering getting 1-2 co2 mags for use in cold weather, however I generally do not play airsoft if there is snow on the ground so I am still considering if I need to buy them or not since I would hate to have to buy co2 cartridges as well. Anyway thanks again for your input ^_^
