Lately, I have been having mixed answers about thunder b grenades. It's about if thunder b grenades can 'kill' or not. There. Are people who put BBs in the grenades thus BBs should fly out, hitting someone thus killing the person. Simple. But what about empty thunder B grenades? Could you kill someone by tossing a grenade next to them? Great example:
I was playing at hell survivors. Someone threw a thunder B grenade inside of a building and it blew up next to me BUT no BBs came out. The person who threw it said I was dead, I poked my head out of the window saying I wasn't hit by any BBs thus I can't be killed. After a minute of discussion I just called myself out. I wanted to play, not talk.
In everyone's ruling: if an empty thunder B grenade blows up next to you, no BBs fly out, are you dead or alive? If you are able to get killed by an empty thunder B, how far away does the grenade have to be?

At any event I host, thunder bs only count as a kill if they have bbs in them and the bbs actually strike a player. Otherwise they're just a distraction device.

A BB actually has to strike you at Blacksheep events also. I believe Lion Claws games are the same as well, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

From what I understand, please correct me if I am wrong, at Mosin's games only a mod can deem a structure destroyed by a Thunder B. I had a similar incident at Hell Survivors. Myself and two teammates were taking cover on the outside wall of a bunker. A member of the oppossing team threw a Thunder B at the perpendicular wall, it went off and none of us were hit with anything so we contiuned to play. The person who threw the grenade argued that the structure was destroyed, along with us. No ref was nearby to make that call. We called ourselves out to avoid the argument, however by rule we were still in play.

If I heard correctly, Lions Claw and Blacksheep both allow "pea grenades", which are Thunder Bs filled with BBs (as mentioned previously in this thread). What I want to know is what you event organizers think of it. Do the Bastards allow them, and are they good to go at SK events?

It's an actual mini explosion, not co2 that propels the peas. As far as I know LC doesn't allow them. I've seen a pretty good flame shoot out of them, so I'm willing to say they wouldn't be allowed at No limits.

I've been hit by a few of them at Grayling. While i can say they hurt, I'd also say they're just about as safe as most cold-burn smoke grenades are. I watched the Sport Somkes the guys were selling at Grayling fling out some sparks and flame as well, and in my experience they seemed pretty similar.
I'd have no problems playing with and against them, however safety is first.

Yes, there are some cold burns that do spark, we've also had two incidents this year of "cold burn" smoke that DID catch the grass on fire. The flame I saw come out of the pea grenades that I both threw and had thrown at me, is enough for me to not want them being used in any where other than buildings like at Grayling or very short grass.

So, pea grenades being a no-go aside, what about the thunder Bs filled with BBs? From what I've researched, they don't work perfectly, but they still can get some reliable kills.

I've had great luck with them. They work great indoors, and do well being used on grouped up players outdoors ( tossed in the doorway of the castle at no limits). Just don't expect to chuck one 60 yards and take out a squad of people.

Any advice to keep them from rattling? And how full do you fill them?

Any advice to keep them from rattling? And how full do you fill them? I put a little bit of paper towel or toilet paper in the bottom, but there's nothing you can really do to completely keep them from rattling. How full is up to you, a single thunder b will hold 500ish bbs, so you can burn through them quick. I usually load 100-200 in mine. My trick for keeping them quiet is to put them in a pouch where they don't move much, or wrap them in a dead rag to help keep the rattle less noticeable.
