Would it be appropriate to wear OD WW2 webbing during an Airsoft event? I'm really into WW2 history and would like my Airsoft experience to reflect this. I currently have the M1 Garand and the M1A1 Thompson. Thank you for any and all advice you can offer.

Dude, it would be "appropriate" to wear almost anything you want to an airsoft event! Of course, if it's a MilSim event, certain restrictions are made, but even at one of those I'm pretty dang sure they'd allow WWII webbing.

I just don't want to show up wearing a beat up AC/DC T-shirt and jeans with mags sticking out of my pockets. Thanks for the feed back!

Dude trust me you wouldn't be out of place. I've seen dudes run basketball shorts, a t-shirt, and flip flops so trust me it wouldn't be out of place.

I wear carpenter pants and a flannel to nearly every rec game that I go to. Just have fun, be a fun person to be around and you'll have no problems.

Generally speaking there's no restrictions on gear. In MILSIM games you will have restrictions on the pattern of your blouse and trousers, but gear and replicas are not controlled. So if you want to run a WW2 load out at the next REALSIM you would be good to go. You would just need to find an accepted camouflage pattern to wear under your gear.
From my experience in national events (Blacksheep and Lion Claws) they operate in the same fashion but usually with slightly stricter requirements on camo patterns. The only gear restriction that I recall is that helmets must conform to the camouflage pattern for your team.

You like what you like, so wear it when you play. With that said, and in a way reiterating what X said, the main problem you can really run into is a camo restriction. MILSIM games have them so the teams are uniform looking and more realistic to the nature of the event, thus it is easier to distinguish friend from foe. The main thing to understand is you have the right to ask the event coordinator about such questions prior to showing up and running into problems there. I figure it is safe to assume that all of the big MiA event coordinators will give you a honest answer and/or potential solution to any gear/camo problems you may run into for a event. Usually you can run to a surplus store and buy a set for relatively cheap, if need be.

I would recommend reading the informational first post of the event before asking questions. Many hosts get annoyed when people don't read the event description/requirements and then ask about the event and its requirements.
