I never had any face shots, most were lower leg or back shots but due to the higher FPS limits I prepared accordingly. I brought my mesh lower face mask and I encouraged as many people to buy them on the spot. Forgive me but i feel as this was directed towards me^^ I had no issues by not running lower mesh or full face, but when a ricochet coming back shattered at a nearly 150 degree angle does that I call BS on the chrono/player, and so does the nice chunks of skin off my forearm from the same guys direct shots... Other than this one instance I had no issues with the fps limits as a whole nor with people having hot guns. It wasn't directed at you. I was more or less stating that I pretty much anticipated this problem. I never had any issues like you did but I figured it could be a possibility. I would have been pretty pissed about that instance if it happened to me.

Hell at one point we used two smoke grenades on the center house by building 27 just to mess with the guys inside. It sure was funny to hear them panic when we would through them into the front of the house and just walk away. Wait, we did what? Pretty sure smoke in the buildings was a no go.

We threw them in front of the house, not in it, X. Don't worry, all is well...it's ok...just sleep... We also followed the smokes with some shooting in the windows. Gunslinger is right, it was funny as hell hearing them freak out.

My squad were the guys in 28 when that smoke came over the wall. At that point we had been sitting there for about 5 hours. It wasn't so much freaking out as much as it was hoping for contact and getting my guys awake. I know we saw you guys come up from the church a few times and when you left we would go flip the flags back. It was kinda funny cause after we would flip them back you guys would come back and flip em to green again.

My experience:
Awesome AO Great sportsmanship. Hardly no issues with hit calling. Great times with friends slinging BBs.
My concerns basically lied within the logistics of the game. There were many times where our intelligence we were relaying regarding troop movement and locations was completely disregarded. I have to give command some benefit of the doubt, as they've never played with us, nor do they know what kind of players we are. To me, thatd be the reasoning behind them having us hold buildings for extended periods of time.
Basically the gameplay was fun, but a little drawn out. There was too much of just sitting around, and not enough of a push by either side. I really feel like a larger player turnout would change this, but I also think that tactics should be dynamic. Introduce a high value objective during one of the stalemates. Come up with a small building that "didn't matter", and make it a 1,000 point bonus. Then you'll have 2 plus squads on either team fighting over a 1,000 square foot, single story house. That's what makes memories and brings people back. In the end, it is airsoft. Not only that, but it's also a product. A good product allows for return customers. Return customers mean more moolah. And trust us, there's a ton of would be return customers on this forum. We just ask for a few changes, and our input to be taken seriously
In closing, I do think I speak for the majority of us when I offer our gratitude towards the blacksheep staff for organizing and putting together this event. Hopefully our input is taken into consideration and we can achieve a much more memorable event next year.

Hey Guys, I have taken the time to read every comment in this forum. There are some valid points here. Pathfinder events are always hard. The Base held us to the same standard as any Army Unit to cross its gates, and that included the cleaning (which we were unaware of the extend of) We understand that many guys had a long drive to Canada, PA, SD, ND, all over, but this is the MI forum. Many staff and volunteers cleaned another day and half after all the players left. I scrubbed the toilets and staff cleaned out the CALFEX building, and you guys know how messy that was due to the sand and weather. The staff was lighter than usual, because of short notice many of our normal staff members were unable to get off work.
We were not aware of the extensive amount of cleaning that we were responsible for as a group, and we will take a more proactive approach next year on this issue (we have already been kicking around ideas on this). We were also told we had access to 20 push brooms and were only provided 6 (Army Math). Also comparing a brand new (Online March of 2014) multi-million dollar facility needing to be cleaned up to almost condemned buildings not required to be cleaned up is silly. We do have some venues that do not require us to clean them when we finish an event.
Normally (with more staff) we can offer better/more fraggo missions. It was hard for only the two of us working the field (addressed this issue with major) to setup them, spot check, check for safety, deal with issues, check on moral/complacency, and more than I can remember.
You guys can think that we make a lot of money, I will tell you we DO NOT! We do this because we enjoy it. You have no idea the operating costs to move the equipment, staff, rent facilities like this, insurance, ect. While trying to set a little aside to purchase equipment to make it a better experience. Many people complain at our prices, but want more money on our end to be put out for real MRE's or this or that. If you guys want a higher ticket for such things we can do more. The more players we have the more money in the budget for these things. A 500 person event will produce more of these things as there is more profit to spend back on the experience.
We were also under the impression that we had access to the mess hall and planned to use that for the meal plan, we found out the day before we did not because of all the bases activities. The Army really made this event hard on us, but we passed and will be allowed to come back next year.
We work on every event to make it better than the last. There were many things we plan to do differently here but we can not make significant changes during the middle of the game, as it just leads to confusion.
The water issued, yes we use to issue Gallon Jugs (needs to be updated on site) we moved to water stations, as it reduced cost, environmental impact and space required during travel. Many players were leaving empty and half used jugs all over the events, so we moved to the water stations in the AO. I will get this corrected on the website, thank you for saying something.
The Chrono was a issue at this event and I will be personally speaking with Polarstar and Amped Airsoft to come up with a better way of this and chart which I will personally print and out hand out to the VOLUNTEERS that handle the chrono for us when staff is light. So this issue will be delt with, and was noticed during the event.
The Lighting issue, we asked the facility to turn some lights off in/around buildings however they do not have this capability. Buildings are all on or all off. we did get the road lights turned off so that night movements were a little better. So we did try to address this during the game.
Those of you here unaware, there was an issue during the night with the control system at the CALFEX, the system was locked down for several hours and the music was choppy and nonstop because of this issue in some buildings. Understand things happen, outside of everyone's control sometime. We were also pushing the system and facility harder than its ever been. No body does 24 hour training exercises there.
The major asked for these things in person and not to blast the event on the internet. I as staff can only do so much to make an event good. Its the players that are the backbone, I want you guys to have a great experience. I spent hours asking players how they were doing, what they liked, didnt like.
The vehicles, we would have loved to have more involvement with Army and better vehicles, we had to prove ourselves to them, that MilSim is adults who can act responsibly just to use the facility. Hopefully next year they will work with us on requests to help make it a more immersive experience. We can not bring decommissioned deuces onto a live military base.
Like I said, please post the good with the bad on our Forums in the AAR section, we want the feedback to help improve the experience. Please do not blast us, and be tactful in your reports. I am not trying to defend Blacksheep, or say there are not some valid points, there are. I am merely trying to provide a understanding from the other side of the fence, so you guys know we do care and we do want to improve and make it more enjoyable for all who attend our events.

The major asked for these things in person and not to blast the event on the internet. No disrespect but considering the length of time from wake up Saturday 0600(for myself) to the end on the last briefing 1700 was roughly 34 hours most of us wanted to get out and go home. To expect someone to continue to stay even longer to complain about a Game is ridiculous we are not blasting the event we are giving constructive criticism.(If you can't take the good with the bad why read what we post?) Most of us will probably attend future events, we as a community are just stating some things we did not agree with and would like to see changed.

They were using the XCortech which I have observed, with my own XCortech, as being very dependent on ambient light. I chrono'd at dusk on Friday. They chrono'd me at 385 (w/.25) and my gun shoots 404 (w/.20). So they were about 25 FPS over what I normally shoot. I'm going to give my AAR after I finish reading everybody else's but I first must address this. I was one of the guys chronoing along with Andy and we were both using XCortech 3200. X you kind of contradicted yourself just now by saying that we crono'd you at 385 w/ .25 and your gun normally shoots 404 w/.20's. So we would have been 25 Fps off. That's not true. With .25's you get 385 Fps at 1.58J, with .20's at 410fps you get 1.56J. So if anything there might only be a 5-10 Fps flux. Everybody knows you drop about 20 Fps per .05 gram of BB. Forgive me if I might have misunderstood your post but the numbers add up from what I see.

It was alright, after some thought I would probably do it again if some of the suggestions were implemented (fragos and other objectives, rest cycles, etc.). Definitely had a TON of great fire fights. Still can't get over the fact that only Gikas and I held a large portion of Bravo back from taking building 11 for over 2hrs straight, so so many kills... I also hung out with RAGE for a bit in 11 in the wee morning hours as lookout while some of them got some shut eye. We then got up and pushed into buildings 24 and 25 which was schweet. I'll edit and post add my pics later, can't now because I'm at work. Love you all, Helmet out.

Zach (Blacksheep2) If you remember the Major prefaced this statement with " Anyone have any pissant comments?" Not really a conducive way to elicit a non-biased response is it? I had/have some pretty strong feelings about Alpha's CO. I refrained from making comments because it was a personal thing, not anything that had to do with the event as a whole. I left the event on Sunday with the thought of never returning to another Blacksheep event firmly planted in my mind. After a good cool down period and quite a few discussions with Blacksheep event vets and my team mates, I'd give it another run. I know how things can very easily and very quickly go sideways during an event, and most of the suggestions here are things that we as players felt can be improved for next time.

It was ment as a request and not as a statement that anyone necessarily was. I MYSELF AM EXHAUSTED NOW and trying hard not to come across as rude or overly defensive because of it. I did not get home till close to midnight last night after a 13 hour drive home. I myself was up from 6 am Saturday mourning till almost midnight on Sunday working/cleaning and busting butt to try to make this event the best I could for you guys. Like I said in my story of a post, many of these issues will be resolved at the next grayling event. The post I made really was not ment as an attack just wanted to show that we do care and value opinions to make the event better next year.

Forgive me if I might have misunderstood your post but the numbers add up from what I see. Sorry, but I have checked my own Android App that I wrote, and two different online calculators and your math is off. 0.25g @ 385 FPS = 1.72 J 0.20g @ 404 FPS = 1.51 J Also, the rule of thumb for 20 FPS for .05g is way off, because the relationship is non linear (KE = .5m*v^2) For example... For 1.5J 0.15g = 464 FPS (Baseline) 0.20g -62 FPS 0.25g -43 FPS 0.30g -31 FPS 0.35g -24 FPS Sources: play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=brooks.john.airsoft.calc&hl=enwww.airsoftmaster.com/fps-chart-for-airsoft-guns/www.gamepod.com/fps_calculator.phpwww.physicsclassroom.com/class/energy/u5l1c.cfm

Everyone hit on any criticism I had of the event. Hopefully it is taken into account and the next Milsim at Grayling is even better!
As a member of Alpha 2-3, I had quite a bit of a fun. The initial drop with RAGE was complete chaos. Getting off the street and into the rear entrance without getting hit was an amazing feat all by itself. When we got inside, the battle effects had made it nearly impossible to effectively fight, so we ended up bailing out the rear entrance of the Embassy. Myself and BlackHawkRanger had been separated from our squad from the get go, and ended up joining our XO and taking some real estate down the residential section as well as the school. From there we ended up getting pinned on the street by the rooftop of the Hotel? I believe. We ended up having to walk back to the CATCAF and encountered the Major along the way. He was pretty cool about us being apart from our squad, but didn't want us to do that again.
I got the honor to run with blackhawkranger for the majority of the game, hats off to you for getting soldier of the battle! You definitely earned it. Assisting you clear out the bottom level of the Hotel with a Tri-Shot before being getting peppered by that PolarStar was crazy. The fire and maneuver we pulled off when clearing out the houses was pretty intense as well, we had three of the four cleared and flags flipped before our squad made it up the street. I really wanted our raid on the school to be granted, we could have prevented Bravo's advance on us. A good offense is a good defense. Until next time man, then we'll run and gun again.
It was definitely good to see some of the guys from the forums again, being a northern player I don't really get the luxury of being able to sling plastic with you guys as much as I'd like. Having NOD support from Gunslinger and his MiA Team was infinitely helpful when we were trying to hold the houses and repel Bravo from taking their package. My squad had to REDCON out after a prolonged engagement in the woods, but we were able to hang on until RAGE was on site.
Holing up in the Embassy nearly all night was fairly boring. I found it to be more of a meet and greet than getting in some firefights. I met quite a few of the SK and MiA Team guys throughout the night, it led to seeing some familiar faces when we were supporting other squads.
The mortar strikes added another element to the event as well. I've never ran so fast down 3 flights of stairs when the embassy was getting mortared constantly. We already covered the gripes about them, so I won't go there. I also would have liked to deploy our barbed wire, which to my knowledge was not used at all. I feel like we could have used it several times to stall out some Bravo advances.
Overall, I'd definitely go again.
