Why does that video only have 600 views? :/
Anyways, am I the only one that thinks that the entire "Milsim Combat Shirt" Idea isn't going to take off?
1) Most airsofters are already set on BDU's and fatigues. We are not going to give up our Gucci Crye to use some shirt made specifically for airsoft.
2) The pattern looks like absolute shit, I'll stick to my marpat.
3) Just because something was in the past, M81 vs DCU does not mean it is not worth revisiting. Most Airsofters own atleast one of those two patterns. We all started there. I personally think the major is full of shit on that one. There is nothing wrong with going backwards. It works, look at Irene, thats all M81 vs DCU. Do people bitch? They don't. It works, people have that, and its a tested and true way of distinguishing teams. Don't try to fix what isn't broken. I would attend any event even if it was M81 vs DCU. Not many people are going to complain. Honestly I think Potomac Field gear is going to loose a LOT of money on those shirts. I know the community well enough to say the majority of us won't be interested.

I think they should start with just forcing people to follow the damn rules. I had many problems identifying people. Why? Because we had green dudes wearing solid OD tops with woodland pants, tan dudes in OD tops with multicam pants, and one squad, who I still don't know which team they were, wearing AOR2. The Tan guys in green tops is what really annoyed me though.

^ I also saw one tan player wearing a black top which I'm 99% sure wasn't authorized on Bravo. At Lightning Strike this year the event's Chief of Staff (Greg Brothers) walked around and through each squad on both sides to make sure that everyone was abiding by the camo regulations. He even called out a couple guys wearing Emerson or maybe it was Allwin AOR2 because the color looked off but allowed it since they were in full camo and it was green based still.
It's just frustrating when you pay money to follow the rules and others don't.

Ok, where to start off here...
Mosin, and the others really touched on the majority of the bad. I would like to add that the Chrono was an absolute nightmare. Mosin and I arrived to Grayling at 5ish Chrono was not open, so we sat around chatted with some vendors, when to check everything out and got some grub. The next morning I went to Chrono around 6:50 when it was my turn to chrono I was only able to have my Sniper done, because the guys running it had no idea of the limits for HPA rifle are you F****** kidding me! I had to sit around 30+ minutes waiting for them to search for the guy that knew the limits.. INVEST in a sheet posted with the limits so that you don't have people waiting even longer than they already waited in the initial line. [/rant]
To the gentleman who was shooting "1.40J" with the Polarstar I honestly doubt that, especially after wiping out the shattered bb pieces embedded in the tip of my nose from the ricochets off the door that you left nearly 1/4" dents in it (compared later to my 1.71 with .32 leaving maybe an 1/8" depth at point blank). That event really rustled my jimmies, nonetheless I shook his hand giving him the benefit of the doubt.
Blind firing was another major issue leading into a door with the barrel of your rifle at a major angle(rifle is parallel to door opening, and you're behind the frame still with nothing behind the rifle) and shooting clear a room before you enter is just asinine.
Hit calling wasn't too bad only a few issues with that.(when I shoot your squad from a distance and watch the bbs hit the top of your heads and you look up at the roof above you and start shooting when no one is there, come on dude....)
Was also expecting a real MRE thankfully I brought food otherwise I would have starved to death. What you provided would qualify as a snack, and lasted like Chinese food, I was hungry an hour later.
Now on to the positive side of things.
AO was nice, great CQC environment, with chances for ranged engagements. For the most part everyone had superb sportsmanship. The FRAGO was pretty cool, getting to the helipad was probably one of the most intense fights of the Op. Sound effects were nice, was expecting something a little more realistic though. Squealing pigs had me craving bacon, and the Music had me dancing and singing. Overall had a good time and will return to the next event if it returns.
Day two back and I can barely walk normal, it is an accomplished kind of sore though. I hit my wall on the way home, luckily Mosin was there to take over driving.

Hey guys, Bravo 3-3.Zoltan Here. My guys and I were attached to 3-3 as a fire team. We spent maybe an hour or two with the rest of our squad Then started asking for missions directly from the XO. For anyone that knows my team knows we can't sit in a building for hours at a time when there's work to be done. I don't know much about how Alpha was run. But it did seem like the command structure on bravo was always making decisions re-actively instead of proactively. Keep in mind that most of the intel they were working off of was 15-20 minutes late and second or third hand. Most notably when 2 squads of Bravo were dropped off in front of building 11 because we supposedly held the first floor. I even warned everyone in the truck that I was sure we didn't. But I'm not one to turn down running straight into the enemy. You'll be seeing a lot more LEAD around the MIA scene as we've met some of the friendliest players up north and that means a lot more to me then the game. I can say I played up until the very end charging the few alpha guys defending the bank. Ended up climbing in one of the broken down vehicles with them after we bled out. And the to the 3-4 random guys that ran around clearing building after building around 11pm with us. Bravo, You kept pace with us which is a feat all on it's own. I'll jump out of a church window with you guys any day. We ran out of buildings to attack so we attacked building 18 head on. According to Mr. Papesh we're the worst airsofters ever because of it . Only once were we near any type of conflict and it was while defending building 11 with just 3 people Alpha squads thought we were mortared while on the roof though it was called off because the Alpha squad also would have died because they were on the top floor also. They argued with the OC about it for a while which is probably lucky for them because we were ready to fight our way back down but instead decided to walk away from the situation. Mosin. Great job sniping our guys on top of building 18 in the afternoon. I was watching and lobbed a few shots at you but didn't have nearly the same effective range. Will I attend another blacksheep event at camp grayling? Probably. Will I run my own squad next year? Oh yes, and we'll be on a warpath. As My third 24 hour full immersion event this year alone I would rank it as the second most exhausting.

I have a few comments though most of the negative is due to a few members of my squad and not necessarily the event:
I had a great time but don't believe I got my $150 worth (actually $300 worth since someone stole two of my Tornado grenades from building 25 when I forgot to pick them up after getting pushed out the other side of the building and our squad going redcon5, they were gone when I came back to retrieve them on our next insertion and no one turned them in to lost and found. My own fault for not remembering to grab them in the heat of the moment, but the fact that they were gone when we were re-inserted and not turned into Lost and Found has me pretty angry. I am sure the person that picked them up wouldn't appreciate it if it happened to them. I may have been accidental that they forgot to turn them in, but I think that is unlikely.)
First hour in our "squad leader" redconned us because he got in an altercation with another "talk a lot of shit, but can't back it up with action" member of our squad that was in a building across the street and not with the rest of our squad. Right off the bat we were in a bad spot and pulled out of the game for a chat with the Major. Then throughout the day there were members of the squad that took forever to resupply and get ready to be re-inserted into the action. I was ready in less than 2 minutes most of the time and less than 5 all of the time. There were times during the day that it took them over 20 minutes to refill mags, and get back out there and most took off their gear every time we came out increasing our time out of the game. Most of the day we had one or two members with an (in my opinion) unnecessary gun down issue(s.) There were some legitimate gun down issues that really sucked, but those were legitimate, and not something that could have been prevented by being prepared. And even the legitimate ones didn't keep people out of the fight for as long as the inappropriate ones. I brought one gun, it worked flawlessly until the last 2 hours of the game and I was having issues then because my barrel was dirty, next time I was out I cleaned it and didn't have another issue for the rest of the game.
About the time the sun went down we starting losing people to sleeping in their cars and those of us that wanted to play couldn't because command wouldn't insert us because we weren't a combat effective squad. At one point I told them that I was ready to go in and ask to be re-assigned to another squad because I didn't want to stand in the parking lot while everyone smoked, shot the shit, and slept in their cars. I didn't pay $150 for that. The six of us that were still playing formed up, headed out and took the Embassy from the back door through the woods. We cleared everything but the last few trapped on the roof and were pushing them when a squad of reinforcements arrived to help us finish the clear. Along the way we lost our second medic, not sure if he got separated from us in the trek through the woods and couldn't find us, or what, he didn't have a radio so we couldn't call him. When we got back after everything his medic armband and bandages were on the table and we were told he joined a different squad, I don't really blame him because I was considering doing the same thing.
I mean when the XO comes out and says "I need you guys for a mission in 10 minutes can you be ready?" and they all answer "No, we'll be ready in maybe 30 if you're lucky." Those of us that were ready said we were ready but he wouldn't even acknowledge us because we weren't a full squad. We missed the helipad frago because of this.
Those of us that did stick out the night continued to go to hot spots and try to take buildings. This smaller group was the most fun I had the entire event. In the morning a few of the sleepers woke up and rejoined us. Bottom line is there were some really solid players on our squad that I wouldn't hesitate to play with again, and others that I hope I never see on an airsoft field again.
FPS limits were ridiculous and some individuals were obviously not within even those limits, I never witnessed a field chrono even though they said they would be spot checking. I saw too many bleeding faces, noses, ears, hands, arms, etc. to believe that Blacksheep really cares about Safety first.
The facility was outstanding, the cannons, soundtrack, flickering power and other background mood setting stuff was very cool. The fog machines during the day inside the buildings were a bit out of hand, but still cool.
I didn't have a problem with cleaning up, but if you expect 200 people to help clean up after the event you should have enough tools to get the job done quickly and efficiently instead of having a handful do the bulk of the work while everyone else sits on their butts. There were only like 6 or 7 brooms total. Those of us that were working clean up were every bit as tired and unhappy about being asked to do it, but we did way more than our share anyway. The length of the briefing was excessive and the length of time between end of game and closing meeting was excessive.
Would I go again? Yes, to Grayling, but I don't know if I would travel to the farther ones based on my experience here. I would also not go with a squad that I didn't know ahead of time again. I also won't be taking $75 grenades with me for someone to steal either.

You know at the end of the day Sunday I was with Pagan in thinking that I would probably not go back, but I think I would go again so long as we had a different CO. The rest of the stuff I can deal with and better prepare for now that I know what to expect.

I heard numerous complaints about the chrono being inaccurate and, in particular, reading low. Several SK members noted that their typically 350-400 FPS rifles were chronoing at 300 FPS or below. Not sure if this was because Blacksheep chronoed with .25s or if the chrono was being used improperly, not calibrated correctly or some other issue, but when multiple people are complaining about chrono results it might be a good idea to check to make sure the chrono is functioning properly.

Chrono had to be off, this kind of damage at 1.40J ricochets?! I don't believe so..(3 on the nose had fragments of bb in the wound.)

The rest of the stuff I can deal with and better prepare for now that I know what to expect. My sentiments exactly X. After taking two days to contemplate, I might make another go of it if this is offered again next year but I would do things differently to be better prepared. Unfortunately one of those would be to think for my own rather than obeying every order that tells me to hold a building for 5 hours when we can take a bunch of other buildings and provide more value. When you order your largest squad (15) on Alpha to hold a small building when they could take one of the larger buildings or a whole group of other building on their own or with the help of another squad, it becomes a bit ridiculous. Actually had there been an actual platoon leader coordinating between all of the squads instead in their respective platoon rather than the CO/XO ordering each squad to operate independently, our platoon alone could have accomplished far more. If most of us go next year, I'll even step up to take that role.

I never had any face shots, most were lower leg or back shots but due to the higher FPS limits I prepared accordingly. I brought my mesh lower face mask and I encouraged as many people to buy them on the spot.

They were using the XCortech which I have observed, with my own XCortech, as being very dependent on ambient light. I chrono'd at dusk on Friday. They chrono'd me at 385 (w/.25) and my gun shoots 404 (w/.20). So they were about 25 FPS over what I normally shoot.

Forgive me but i feel as this was directed towards me^^ I had no issues by not running lower mesh or full face, but when a ricochet coming back shattered at a nearly 150 degree angle does that I call BS on the chrono/player, and so does the nice chunks of skin off my forearm from the same guys direct shots... Other than this one instance I had no issues with the fps limits as a whole nor with people having hot guns.

I brought my face mask thinking I would use it running room to room building after building..... NOPE ditched mine after the first building and never wore it again, for my squad it wasn't really worth trying to work with it, most times we sat....... And sat......... And sat.....
We had later on maybe around hour 17 or 18 instances of fuck it and wander to closer buildings just to get into pointless fire fights to wake our selves up. Hell at one point we used two smoke grenades on the center house by building 27 just to mess with the guys inside. It sure was funny to hear them panic when we would through them into the front of the house and just walk away.

Honestly, I thought the chrono was fairly accurate. My bone stock SR25K sans an R-hop tuned in at 381 at chrono. Those shoot roughly 400+ stock so with the .25's it seemed like a fairly accurate reading give or take 5fps.
On the other hand, we did have a player on our squad get his tooth shot out so maybe one of the 2 (or more, not sure) chronos were inaccurate. No use debating it though really as there is no way of knowing.
