They don't seem to have holes on the back, so how does air/gas get to the BB? If there isn't a hole, what are the chances this could be applied to a shotgun shell?

Some revolvers have shells that hold small amounts of gas. Some have shells that hold bbs but the gas is fed like a normal GBB pistol. I have also seen some that just have slots for the bb and no shells. This could probably work for shotguns but it wouldn't be as cool IMO.
