Hey folks,
I just have a question regarding green gas vs. propane.
I am planning to buy a KWA ATP pistol, but in the description it has this note:
NOTE: DO NOT USE PROPANE, RED GAS, or HFC 134a Gas with this KWA product. Using propane with this KWA Gas Blowback will void the manufacturer's warranty, and can cause irreparable damage to the pistol.
If I use a propane adapter with an oil port and use the oil when I fill the mags isn't this essentially the same as green gas? Or is there something else about propane that will/could harm the gun outside of the lubrication piece?
It was my understanding that the main difference was that green gas contained the oil in it already but was essentially propane with the oil added to lubricate the mag and gun as you fired it.
Would I be ok with propane and an adapter provided I use oil, or should I go with the more expensive Green Gas? I just don't want to buy the gun then ruin or damage it by thinking I know what I am doing when I really don't.
Thanks,
Zzan

Hands down, propane and lube. I highly recommend picking up the Airsoft Innovations valve, as it comes with enough high quality oil to last you a LONG time ( like 5 years minimum, no shit). Propane is like 5 bucks a can, and lasts you almost 4 times as long. Going propane pays for itself after 3 cans of green gas, so yeah, propane. And as long as you follow the instructions on the bottle (2 drops for every 10 mag fills) you won't wear out your 0rings

My ATP is pretty thirsty when I run it on propane. I personally oil it every 4 fills.

Thanks, that's what I thought, just wanted to make sure before I spent the money.

Yeah, Green Gas is a bit of a scam. You can get so much more propane for the same price, and I've never had a problem lubing it myself.
