Bear with me here and read the post,
I'm looking into buy a pair of Crye AC combat pants but my question is, is it really worth it? I understand the build quality of Crye and things of that nature. But is it worth it for airsoft or should I just stick with brands like Allwin and the like. Its not that I cant afford it, but rather I dont want to blow $300 on a combat set when I can spend $150ish.

I think it depends on how roughly you use your gear. I barely play now so buying a set of Cryes is overkill (and overspending). And even if you play a lot, is your gear usually under high stress? Depends on that, I think.

The pants are definitely worth it. I ordered my ACs the first night they were released, 4 or 5 years ago. They've held up great. Some stitching around one of the kneepads has ripped out after sliding on asphalt 3+ years ago. It's unraveled a bit more perhaps, but the interior row still hold things together. Pretty much just aesthetic at this point. One of the velcro bits on one of the ass pockets has mostly come off. I think some of the sewing on the one of the belt loops might be loose, but I'm not 100% on that. I don't treat my shit nicely either, so I'm more than happy with how they've held up over the years.

What I'm thinking, is to bite the bullet and order some Crye AC pants, then a repro top. I beat the piss out of my pants but my blouses/Combat shirts are usually pretty nice after a game.

I thought you were looking for the Woodland uniform? Not multicam?

Ideally I'd like both, but the woodland will have to be repro.

Military issued woodland is cheap anyways, it would make more sense to go after MC first. Old m81 might not be crye, but still takes one hell of a beating.

The issue being that the woodland is needed for a specific event coming up which won't allow him to wear his coolguy AOR2 because only a handful of his squad mates have it.

Ogre, I already own M81 BDU's as well as tri-color. I am looking for combat sets with built in knee pads. Gimp, off the top of your head do you know of any US based retailers that have M81 combat sets? I'm having a hard time finding them.
