I just got this update on Camp Grayling from the the Major (Major Bucciarelli of Blacksheep MILSIM)! It took a long time to get the commander's approval to do a game here and the time slot is somewhat close in.
I just spent all day with the staff at cam granting, MI. Granting is a go for 15-17 August. Brand new CACTF like Shelby, barracks, EST 2000 (squad video simulator), TBOS (Blackhawk flight simulator), urban assault course and more. They wanted to do this date because there is a joint US/Canadian combined arms live fire exercise going on - Northern Strike - apache, a10, f16, b1, e3 award, kc135, c130, 105 howitzer, 120 mortars, 81 mortars, ground maneuver. Amazing!
So as of right now, while we would be playing in a MOUT with all of the other action going on around us - aircraft, helicopters, artillery, mortars, etc. Not too shabby!

Figures after waiting the whole beginning of the year for this, it gets announced after my airsoft hiatus takes place.
Oh well, have fun guys. I'll be very jealous.

I would assume it is going to be the same as the usual Blacksheep cost ($200 down to $100 depending on if you are a veteran or public safety employee, Blacksheep veteran or pathfinder, etc.) but it is not finalized yet. www.blacksheepmilsim.com is the site where the registration will be posted when everything is set. I just wanted to give as much heads up as possible to MIA.

The live fire worries me a bit but I'm in I wouldn't be scared of that for a minute. If you think you'll even be remotely close to impact areas you're severely mistaken. You'll hear thuds of the heavy stuff at best, but it won't be like happening in the backyard while you're playing in the front. My Brother is in the National Guard and is going to be there doing call for fires with some of those systems. I'm most likely going to be going to this as well. Maybe then I can get some straight answers on this 5 man team challenge they're doing in Kansas City.

I'm super excited! I only hope I can afford it. And yeah like Mosin said you won't be anywhere close to the live fire. I was just there a month or so ago doing M2 and Mk 19 training and qual. Those ranges are out in the middle of hills and tank trails haha.

Info needed, but excited nonetheless. I'm going to be saving quite the pretty penny for this.

PM'd you Eagledriver.
Looks like I gotta slash prices on my sales thread to make this event come to fruition.

eagledriver, is Friday August 15th reserved for registration, chrono, AO walkthrough, etc or does game play start on Friday August 15th? EDIT: Also is this an OP (24 hour) event, or a battle (Saturday & Sunday). Since you said weekend of the 15-17, then I assume this is a Battle so 10hr game on Saturday and 8hr game on Sunday, and registration/chrono on Friday August 15th?

It's a 24 hour OP. Show up Friday, reg and chrono, leadership briefing is usually at 2100 hours. Saturday starts at 1000 or 1200 (depending on the OP) and goes for 24 hours.
The 24 hour "OP" versus "Battle" has not been nailed down yet. I was the one who really pushed for the "Battle" series because even though we get an OK turnout for the 24 hour games, it is a big leap from an 8 or 10 hour game. So I thought that having a break in between the game would help those who either weren't up for it (remember, many of us are in MILSIM physical fitness shape as well) or just did not want to do the constant game into the early hours.
I just got back fro Lion Claws OP Shahrazad so I was not able to go to Grayling with the rest of the staff, so I haven't been able to get all of the planned details. The event section of the web site will be updated hopefully by the end of this week.
And yes, Friday is registration, chrono, walk through, and the Command briefing. One note - if you would like to be a squad leader or Platoon leader the only "extra" requirement I put on those positions is that you need a programmable UHF radio. I get an FCC license for each OP and do not use the FRS/GMRS frequencies for Squad leaders on up. If individual squads run comms then they can choose to use their assigned UHF frequency or an FRS/GMRS channel.
Thinking ahead - would anyone know of any vendors who would like to set up at this event? Blacksheep does not charge vendors as he feels that they would just raise their price to cover that. I would also like to know if there is a paintball store nearby (for Polarstar refills.)
