I thought that I had the most free time in the world until I began trying to schedule for rec games in the next few months; with taking 16 credits this semester as well as next and working third shift Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the local Meijer I'm beginning to realize that I cannot possibly make any games without either quitting my job or cutting down on my credits (which the only reason I'm taking so many right now is to graduate next year).
If you have a job, full-time or part-time and/or go to school full-time, how do you find time to play?
I just turned 21 in May and I'm already feeling like all of my free time is vanishing.

It's relatively easy (at least for me). I've got 12 credits this summer, work 36-40 hrs a week at Meijers (yay retail :/) and run a delivery route for Pepsi overnights.
If you're taking challenging classes the best thing to do IMO is to push airsoft aside. Schedule maybe 1 game a month, or if you're like me, 1 every 2 months. On top of that budgeting your study times, work time and play time is really really important. Lastly, at least at store 174, our managers do their best to get us the time off we ask for as long as we give them enough time to do so. Leave your shift manager a note or talk to Him personally about getting 1 Saturday off a month. Then use the computer to request the time off through team trakr.
Hopefully you can get this figured out. It's taken me some time to get a system that works, but it does work eventually. Best of luck to you and I hope to see you on the field.

I've been playing airsoft in some form or another since I was 12 years old and I took a break from playing airsoft from my junior year of high school through my sophomore year in college due to not having the time or money to play airsoft. I've been playing airsoft consistently since I got back in around 2008, but I didn't really start having a lot of available time to play until I graduated from college and got a full time salary job to leave my weekends free.
While you're in school, whether it be high school or college, that should be your top priority and focus on playing airsoft more after you graduate and land yourself a career that can fund it. You'll need it if you want to afford it to get into the larger MILSIM games like Lion Claws events.
Of course I still played while I was in college, but it was a lot less frequently.

Get talented, open your own business, hire employees and skate when ever you want to a game that is worth it.
Well... That's how I did it any way. But seriously take care of real life before you worry about pretend. Some times the things we want to do most don't really play into our actual lives. You have to give up fun some times to do what's better for you down the line. Hopefully you don't end up being some one who "works" until retirement then regrets all the things you "should have done". Just live life one day at a time and let things beyond your control worry about themselves.

Invest a shitload more money than I plan on into replicas and gear, and then plan my life around Lion claws ops.
Seriously.

I'm figuring that once I graduate and find a job in my field it will be much, much easier to get time aside for airsoft. It's not that I'm really concerned about getting back in immediately but having spent the last month or two scouring for gear to get back into the game has left me antsy to play. Thanks Puma1 for the suggestion - I will probably have to wait a little longer before considering asking for Saturdays off as I haven't been at this Meijer location for very long. Are fall and winter games as common as I'm hoping they are, or at least remember them being? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk

If you plan ahead it's easy, if you can't get a Saturday off every month or two then find a new job.

Meijer's is unionized, if you can't get those days off then talk to your union reps. If that doesn't work talk to the union reps bosses. And if that doesn't work call the miejers ethics hotline. I've used it before with great results.
Still, as someone pointed out before school and having the income to support your education is much more important than bb worz. If found a decent balance if both. Until fall semester starts and then I'm screwed.

I sell rocks during the week and host airsoft games on the weekends. The scheduling flexibility is unmatched!
In all seriousness; 27 year old and self-employed. If I didn't work directly for/with Hole in the Wall Paintball hosting airsoft events, I probably wouldn't get nearly as much trigger time or contact with the MiA community.

Yeah, the hard stuff.
X's suggestion is my exact situation, and behold- it does work, I can airsoft whenever I want to.
