Like I said, DEPENDABILITY and DURABILITY are the primary traits I'm seeking for these spring guns.
I haven't actually had my hands on many different types of airsoft guns, and I definitely don't keep up with new products, so maybe one of y'all have a gem or two you can point me toward. I'm looking for spring pistols and spring semi-auto rifles.
fps is not important! I'm hoping they are pretty consistently accurate, but they do not need to powerhouses. I'm just looking for guns that can get banged around and keep on tickin'.
Recommendations?

I know there are some metal springer pistols out on the market, most being in combination with ABS plastic. Haven't looked around too much for them, but it shouldn't be hard to find what you might be looking for. Those, and there is a stickied thread, even in this section, about a basic overview of various spring pistols: miairsoft.proboards.com/thread/6991/spring-pistol-test-dataBut for the most part, most spring guns tend to be very consistent with accuracy and range between shots as they are not heavily dependent on the temperature/weather as gas guns are. And get a good springer with decent internals, you can have yourself a gun that will last a while. But I am pretty confident, there is no such thing as a semi-auto 'spring' anything. The closest you'll get is your typical AEG. It's primary power source is a spring, but it is pulled via a set of gears and a motor, attached to a power supply and cutoff switch (trigger mechanism).

Anything here will do you good. Sorry: linkfor a rifle, I'd find a good shotgun and wrap it in hockey tape. (not the pump mechanism of course, but everything else.) That way the larpers can't get hit with hard plastic and or metal fragments. If you're going to order from overseas, let me know. I need to pick up a few things and splitting shipping always helps.

Side note: hoping to find some guns that have a unique body shape... like they are from the future or a distant world. Or at least come up with awesome ways to make the shape of the guns appear like they are not from our era. No ray guns though. Pew pew!

Cyber gun spring Famas and the snow wolf $40 spring Barret should be up your alley.
I think MP7's look futurist enough to fit the bill. The Army in The Hunger Games used P90's and I think that is at least 100 years in the future
