Hello to any and all reading this.
A very small number of you know me on here, probably less than 8, as I am relatively new. I've just attended my first milsim, have been playing since last summer, and am starting to get seriously interested in being more involved in this sport, but I digress.
At some point, I "figured" I needed a cool call-sign, so I picked "EndGame". The reasoning behind it is a little weak(Megadeth's 12th studio album, a DLC for one of my favorite games, Battlefield 3, amongst other things).
Anyhow, after Op Gambit, I realized that either people did not notice my name patches, or my callsign simply wasn't memorable or easily pronounceable enouguh, because people seemed to be hesitant to use it. Maybe I didn't assert myself enough? I don't know.
I've been thinking of changing my call-sign for a while, but am undecided as to what to choose. I would like something related to my French heritage or my Canadian-ism, and I have been referred to as "Frenchie/Frenchy" by a few of my friend in College(being that French is a rare language here in the US), so that has been on my list, especially since someone else gave me the nickname, which I think means more than a name I'd pick for myself.
Other stereotypical ideas like "Canuck" and "Hockey"(even though I hate most televised sports) come to mind, but I can not think of anything else.
I just want a second opinion on the matter, or suggestions, as none of my friends outside of MiA play airsoft, so I've got no one else to talk to about it. Any opinions/ideas/suggestions?

There is literally a whole thread stickied about this topic:http://miairsoft.proboards.com/thread/26049/tutorial-airsoft-nickname-handle I know about that thread, and have already read it. I wasn't asking HOW to pick a handle, I'm asking for opinions or suggestions, as the OP clearly states.

I don't think the problem is with your call sign. It took people 3 or 4 full games to match my name /faceto my call sign. Even then I've only met about 15 people on this forum personally (maybe). I personally would say to give it some time unless you really want to change it.

Step 1: Loose the long profile name you have now. "EndGame" will suffice and be easier to remember.
Step 2: Go to games.
That and making a name for yourself on here will eventually get you "recognized" at events/whatever.

Sounds like you picked your new name when you started this thread: Identity Crisis (shortenings include IDC, IDCRY, usw.). BAM.

The problem I see with "Endgame" is that if I hear someone shouting it I'm going to then look for a player without goggles or someone who is maybe injured. It sounds like one of those things you yell or say over the radio to stop all shooting. Just an observation.

Legionnaire said it. Whatever you pick don't expect people to know who you are after one or two games. I've been playing for almost 10 years and I forget who half these people are every game.

When in doubt, do something from your first or last name.

You don't see anyone going by "Time Out" or "Game Over" because of this. Maybe we did in the past but if anyone did they either weren't around here for long or immediately change their call sign. I know if I heard End Game being yelled on the field, I would probably lower my weapon and start walking off the field..... And not because I was shot....

Maybe I didn't assert myself enough? I don't know. You've really only been active on the forum a little while. Western Gambit was the first major event that you've attended. A lot of the most recognizable airsofters on the field, the guys who everyone knows, both participate on the forums and attend a lot of games. Think about it this way, if you go to a bar for the first time, you wouldn't expect the bartender to recognize you. But if you go that bar a lot, then the bartender will recognize you, know your name and know what you like to drink. It's the act of actually showing up that gets you recognized, not just slapping on some call sign patches. Keep participating on the forum and introduce yourself to people at games. Then people will recognize you the next time a big game happens. And for the love of God, pick a name and stick with it. Your name is your reputation and if you keep changing it people won't associate a personality with that name, it'll just be another name in the sea of new MiA members who they've never heard of before.

Thanks for that, I guess that's what I needed to hear. I've also taken all other replies into consideration. Might just go with my last name, but I am still undecided(I am very un-decisive about everything!). PS: I just recently found out that there's already a user on these forums called Endgame, although he is based in Ohio, so IF I choose to keep this name(which I think not), hopefully that will dissolve any confusion. Otherwise, at least I have someone to sell my call-sign patches to haha
