I've went deep in the bowel of the interweb and read/watched every review of this gun. www.evike.com/products/42392I've heard mixed reviews. It would be my first AEG. I also like that it comes with 3 more flash mags,a decent battery and smart charger. I was just wondering what the veteran players here thought?

Well, let's go into some math as I have no experience with this particular blaster. Three flash mags around $30 a piece, the charger is $30-40, battery is around another $30, bb's are around $15. So with that you're buying $165 in accessories and getting the gun for $15 or your buying the gun for $180 and getting all that for free. I personally think (others feel free to chime in for or against) that you would be much better off jumping into a cm www.evike.com/products/33558/. Sure you don't get the extra goodies but with this you're getting a lot more gun for your money.

Yea I just did the math also. It would be around 220 for the CM Raider CQB, battery, charger and BB's. Plus I wouldn't have to put more money in to the gun for the rails and crane stock. Well I guess I've got more thinking to do. Thank you all for your input on the subject. This forum is truly a treasure trove of information.
P.S. The last thing I'm worried about is the hat.

So the "extras" really come to $145 max (that is if they even bundle Lonex brand ones in there instead of Matrix brand which are on $18, but since the Matrix are 370 and not 360 we'll assume they're Lonex). I've never liked AIM personally, I think they're junk to be honest (from my personal experience with them). I'd definitely go with a G&G raider over the AIM any day.

Save your money to buy a decent replica. If you buy on the cheap you'll end up paying more down the road. Avoid Chinese clones and take a look at some of the more mainstream companies (TM, CA, G&P, G&G, ICS, KWA, KA, etc). When looking at that AIM rifle, you've got to ask yourself - "what sets this rifle apart from every other M4A1 replica out there?" Is it the price? Is it the accessories it comes with? Is it some specific features that the rifle has?

I've decided to get the G&G CM Raider CQB. Now all I have to do is wait for my tax refund to get here. One other question while I'm here. Does anyone know the actually FPS rating for this? I would like to use it in CQB matches but I dont want it running to hot. Any hands on feedback would be awesome.

I believe they settle in around 380 so it will be a little hot for CQB. You may want to look into having the spring replaced.

Combat machines tend to run a bit hot for CQB, but it is a great start. You can always have a tech swap put your spring for you. A combat machine will take care of you if you take care of it.
If you are looking for some simple out of the box upgrades, some easy ones to do would involve getting a tightbore barrel, a different hop up, swaping out your motor for a faster/stronger one, or having your gun wired to deans connectors.
Hope that helps.

Price drop on the Flashmags recently Mayhem? I've always seen them for $20, I personally picked them up when they were $12 a piece, but it was a limited time offer.

I haven't seen actual Lonex flashmags below 30. Guess I need to look a little.
