Hey guys I purchased an a and k masada as my second airsoft AEG. I had read all about it and it sounded good. It's been hell! There are so many problems. When I fire it with a small type battery the motor smells like it's burning. The stock snapped and I glued it and it won't retract now. I opened it up to look at the trigger which is way too hard to pull and saw the cord connecting my battery to the motor is busted up. My slide came kind of bent so it won't function properly. I just want to know what would you guys do. Would you sell it?

I would. The A&K brand in general is pretty hit or miss. I have a friends who loves his Masada, and has never had a problem with it, and i have a family member in Tennessee who said the gun was worse than an LPEG. He ended up taking out the gearbox and using it as an awesome Wall hanger.
My advice, until you are comfortable working on your internals, don't buy from A&K.
I'd sell it off and use the money to pick up a combat machine, a sport line scar or something of the sort. They'll not only last longer but they won't have nearly as many problems in the first place.
You could also send it off to someone like Maverick, T6e9a or our other techs for a full tune up. Although, after paying for parts, labor and shipping, you could probably get 75% of the way to a G&G combat machine.

The burning smell could be a number of things. Motor could be adjusted too tight, wires in the grip could have the motor and a goofy angle, stripped gears, tight shims, ect. Really hard to troubleshoot without actually looking at it and hearing it.
Hard trigger pull almost sounds like some stuff is goofed up inside the gearbox and would benefit from taking it down and reassembling and lubing properly. A new wire job is pretty much a must if things are looking chewed up.
Again, that is all kind of speculation without actually looking at it.

Ok so I'm considering keeping it because it still shoots fine and I covered up the busted patches with some electrical tape. Do you think my guns still ok to use? My big worries the motor.

I would have a tech look it over, my a&k masada works just fine and its old so that goes to show they can last, but they need a little lovin'

As I haven't dealt with a PTS masada yet, I can't talk about that, but in my opinion the A&K masada has some decent externals, its just the internals that tend to always be the issue. With a proper tune up and decent internal parts, you can get a beast out of it. But if parts aren't lining up right in some places, it can just throw the whole system out of whack.
But if you like the style and feel of the rifle, and are willing to have some work done on it, I'm sure you can get what you want out of it.

My friend had one, major POS. If I were you I would just sell and try to recoup some money.

As a previous owner of this gun I can tell you that I regret selling mine. It is a good project gun due to the fact that it has bad internals. The shell is awesome, aside from the stock's hinge(The stocks cost about $45 to replace) I would keep it and work on it until it is the gun of your dreams and when it is you should have learned enough from teching on it to keep it going for years.
All be it, if you want a gun you will never have to tech on, i would recomend getting a combat machine m4.
