Would anyone want to start up a charity game for like wounded warriors or the lone survivor foundation? I have actually contacted both charities and both say I have to register the event with them but I want some support from our great community before starting on my own

Team Rage have been putting on games for charities like the one you listed. They've been doing it for a while now actually.

That would be something that you would have to talk with the owners of those fields about. Typically people expect rec games to only cost a certain amount and at that point you may not raise much money. Doesn't mean it can't be done though. For mil-sims people can expect to pay a little more especially if its going to a good cause.
For games that have money going to charities, the MIA community typically would like to see someone who has already been established do those types of things. If we are going to donate to a charity, we want to make sure that it will 100% be donated to that charity as promised. We've had situations in the past were hosts have said the money was going to charity and only gave part of the actual amount or none.

Obviously it's your choice, do with it what you will and donate to whomever you'd like. My personal 2 pennies is that the less famous the foundation, the more likely the dollar is actually going to go where it needs to, and honestly after this whole Lone Survivor movie came out I would expect to see that charity looking pretty good for the next few months.
Anyways, we host charity games once a year, I'd like to start implementing a flat rate donation out of our profits towards VFW Post 1370 (My local post in Pontiac) but that is something that we (RAGE) have discussed at length just yet. In any case, to donate to a charity you don't have to register or sign up with them or anything, you would more or less just tell us that it's where the money is going and host the game. Immediately following, you'd transfer money to your PayPal or make a flat donation and post screen shots to the MiA community showing that the dollars people entrusted you with actually went to the greater cause.

Wounded warrior is a scam, donate to Aaron's gifts from home. I'd also look into donating to Pets for Vets. pets-for-vets.com/
