I loved my PSG-1, never really cared for G3's per-say, but this G3 certainly would fit my taste buds. I never liked the original G3 stock, didn't feel right (had the same feeling about Mp5 fullstocks).

Hey Cam, have those stickers held up well on that SL series rifle of yours? I havn't put them on mine yet since I'm concerned the minute I field it with them that they'll start looking like shit.

The only one that really looks cool is the ARES one, and that would mean switching out the gearbox because microswitches.

I have tried this with some success. Using a AK base for the real estate available for the barrel(450mm+). Add some rails or use a railed base model for the sights, modify the hop up and drop in a 11.1v li-po, high torque gear set, and a mosfet for semi auto. AND there you go a one off DMR. The benefits of the AK is 1) they are abundant and cheap. 2) standard V3 parts. 3) plenty of room for batteries. 4) long inner barrel, so no need for a barrel extension, however it's not stopping you. 5) it's plain awesome.

If you created the gun from that image I do believe the gates of hell would open, all demons would come forth, and they would bow before the most evil thing ever created by man. Figured I wasn't the only one thinking that too..... The issue helix is that by slapping on a huge scope and a bipod on a standard length AK, you're not doing anything externally to make it look like a DMR. Now if you were to make a DMR out of a RPK and try and make a Romak or a PSL that's a legitimate DMR variant of an AK that would be acceptable. This is a GBBR but you get the idea. www.flickr.com/photos/87263436@N03/sets/72157637550851943/

You say it's craziness. I say it's a cheap one of a kind DMR Build for less than $250. Furthermore this particular build utilizes a option in airsoft that goes overlooked by so many, the realization of the impossible. The ability to create platform that would be completely absurd in the real work, like a DMR AK, and make it work. The fact is, that running with a slightly tweaked off the shelf AK and small amount of magnification, is a cheap and effective way to play DMR. I won't argue with you for a second that this is a completely ludicrous build. I'm just saying that it works, and happens to meet the original critia of the post. Let alone, it seems a bit more creative than a stock HK SL8 or hyper modified AR variants.

If you want an AK to look like a tacticool M4, why not just get an M4 to start out with? Edit: Also a good AK-like DMR would be an SVD.

Your ak is just too busy, the scope is also too far forward to be any help due to eye relief.
I think if you took a standard ak and put a regular scope on a side rail mount, you could get your dmr ak without it looking awful. You could even put a Russian styled silencer on there.
Just watch how many extras you put on there.
