I used to play airsoft a few years ago but stopped playing due to school and what not.
Looking to get back into it. Unfortunately I sold the majority of my gear and all I have left is a KWA MP9 and a JG Bar10
Should I hold onto these or sell/trade them to get an AEG?

I would say keep the MP9 as it's a pretty good backup (unless you prefer a pistol backup) and ditch the Bar10. Sniper is not for everyone and it's a pretty expensive route. I would go with a G&G CM and get yourself some necessities (batteries, mags, etc.) and then build up to better gear. Capiche?
Welcome [back] to airsoft, and MiA!

I've got deleted for sale if you're interested. All you'd need is a deans charger. To go along with what Abbot said, hold onto the mp9. The bar-10 could go wither way but again sniping can get really expensive. Chubbs, don't do that. 2 - Put threads in the right place. Wanted to sell / buy / trade threads must go in Commerce. Don't post about airsoft in Off Topic. We're not going to punish anyone for asking about AEG brands in AEG vs newbie questions, but if you go blatantly off topic, you'll get a warning. Just to make it clear, any attempt to sell gear outside of commerce will get you a warning. Don't drop into gear or gun threads to mention that you have an appropriate item for sale. The most we'll tolerate is a general "good deals on used gear can often be found in the Commerce board."

If you like your KWA MP9, I would suggest holding on to it. It'll work well for you in CQB assuming that it's shooting under 350fps, and it should work pretty well for you on a smaller outdoor field.
Personally I would sell the JG Bar 10 and put that money towards the purchase of a gun for mid to long range. Whether that be an AEG, or a Polar Star Fusion Engine equipped airsoft gun or something else.
Depends on your budget and what you're looking to get out of the gun. That would be helpful to know before recommending anything yet.

Last time I checked the MP9 was shooting under 350.
Budget is probably around $180 or so, I've been looking at G&G Combat Machines and CA Sportlines.
However, last time I checked, the CM series was known for having poor wiring. Is this still true?

G&G Combat Machines have a very good reputation and are highly recommended on this site. I personally haven't heard of any issues with the wiring on them.

I have a Jg Zombie Killer, it cost about $250 which is a little above your budget, but it has definitely outperformed my g&g raider, which is priced at about $189.99. I have had many problems with the g&g, including the outerr barrel coming loose during a game, and once it randomly stopped firing during a game. I did upgrade the motor in the g&g, which greatly increased the rate of fire, but other than that, the Jg has been able to withstand more use than the g&g. Your budget it pretty close to $200, so if you could, I would definitely recommend paying a little more for extra quality. Usually, if the price is higher, it means the product is better.

The Combat Machine has thinner wire than something like a G&P, but it is a champ in stock form and can handle modifications pretty well. I have my combat machine gear box and motor running with a 7.4v lipo, upgraded spring, and some various other goodies and the stock wiring has never been an issue.

I put my combat machine through hell and back. Went to op firestorm in Bangor the year it was wetter than nam. Got stuck in a mud sink hole with it and dropped it in a creek and after it still ran strong. Its definitely a good starter gun.

It may be under the radar for most people, but I would recommend the Dboys SCAR-L. It was my first real airsoft gun, and it did not have a single issue for the time I had it.

I would sell your bar 10 and MP9 to increase the budget for gear and a new primary. So long as you keep it under 350 you won't need a sidearm. My pistols just collect dust.

I'd agree with X on this one, you would be better just buying a really good primary. Plus, I almost never use my pistol on the field. I'd get a good mid-length gun then install a tbb, good hop-up, and bucking to give you the range you'd want for indoors and outdoors.
