So today I have a little bit of a weird question...
So I have goggles and a half-face mask. The half face mask gets in the way of my aiming, and I am more of a line-up-then-take your shot player than a sprayer. Does anyone know if a shemagh would protect mainly my teeth well enough to stop it from chipping? I want to be able to play well but I also don't want to take much risk.
Thanks, Carson

I got shot in that area with a shemagh on and wasn't hurt, so you should be fine with just a shemagh.

I I got shot in that area with a shemagh on and wasn't hurt, so you should be fine with just a shemagh. I've take mouth shots wearing a shemagh and haven't had anything happen as well. At the same time, I've seen two different people have teeth chipped an/or knocked out while wearing a shemagh only. If you really don't want to wear a mask of some kind, I'd recommend at the very minimum using a mouth guard for your teeth. I've had cheek shots that have drawn blood enough, I won't play indoors without some kind of mask. Field play I'm a little less cautious, but depends on the other players attending the event.

I'll second the shemagh. I've taken full auto bursts to the face while wearing it and I was OK.

If its a mesh mask you can mold it some what to your face, to get a better cheekweld on your weapon. Or you can do what I did and modify your mask to fit flush with your goggles and that should work as well.

What do you guys thing about using a football mouthpiece? It would definitely protect teeth, though it would get in the way of talking

When I play, I use goggles and a half-face mask. When I Ref I use a full mask. I only got one set of teeth and not going to lose them. My park requires full face mask or goggles and a half-face mask, no shemagh's.

I wear a shock doctor mouth guard. I've already replaced my front teeth once from a hockey accident, I'm not about to pay for that again.

Look into a V1 mesh facemask. As mentioned they can be bent so you can still shoulder your gun when using it. They offer the best protection and they allow you to breathe and use comms effectively.

Mesh face masks are a great option especially the type Gunny mentioned. I use a shemagh and it really matters how you wear it in my opinion. If you wrap it so you have a nice thick collection of layers, BBs won't knock your teeth out. If you only have a single layer or two, your chance of injury goes up. Talking is not too bad but the warm breath can cause fogging from time to time; particularly in really cold weather. I have been hit in the face many times at Farmington with a shemagh and outside of my nose having a welt once, I knew I was hit but with no pain.

My friend makes a metal mesh add on for a helmet. Its a metal mesh that clips onto a chinstrap on helmets for protection of the teeth. He sells them for $30, but if you want comfortability and protection, its not bad.

That picture is tiny, but it looks cool. From what I can tell at least.
