Hey guys, I've always appreciated the guidance of MiA, and I'm having some issues with finding a plate carrier that fits what I'm trying to do. I figured with all of your experience maybe you could help me out. Here is the Condor MOPC rig that I am using so far for a reference: So that is my current set up. What I would like to trade up to is something in Coyote Brown (to go with my multicam), something that DOES NOT have a cummerbund, and something that doesn't have all that extra material on the sides of the front panel where the mags are, to try and have a slimmer profile. My reasoning for the lack of cummerbund is that I've found it much easier to run without one so I can keep my sidearm on my hip in a Serpa holster, and keep a couple fast mags on the other side for easy reach reloads (I also want to keep the Rifle/Pistol mag kangaroo pouch on the front). I'm also not a huge fan of Condor's tan color so that's why I wanted to move up to Coyote. The two MAIN plate carriers that I've already considered are a Pantac MBSS, and a Pantac LT6094 (Since it's already pretty close to my MOPC, so I would be used to it) I really like the idea of the LT6094 with the cummerbund removed because it has a very slim front mission profile and the kangaroo pouch, but I've also heard that if you remove the cummerbund there are no straps underneath to hold the rig together. If anyone has any info or needs further clarification, please let me know. Thanks again for looking/reading, and hopefully for helping out my indecisiveness.

I run a 6094a after using a Ciras and it's loads better in terms of trimming the fat off the plate carrier. I run it with the molle cummerbund, but I have seen people use the Pig elastic cummerbund that Bishop linked for better access to a hip holster. I say go for the 6094a/Pig cummerbund.

I also run the Mayflower APC, but I've owned an EPC and 6094 previously.
I'm just going to echo what Sandbur and Bishop have said, selecting a PC with cummerbund and using the PIG elastic cummerbund is a great way to keep the sides slick.
Also, have you considered a chest rig? Usually they sit high enough on the chest to clear belt kit, holsters, etc.
Just something to think about.

Hah. I'm going to third the Mayflower. I LOVE mine. Light and tight. Just how I like it.

I ran a mbss with a duty belt for a long time. Was perfect for what I needed and it seems like you would like it too. Had just enough space on the front for mags, and the back sported my hydro and radio.
My only gripe was that at times, I felt like I couldn't carry everything I needed to. But I was trying to carry 8-10 magazines. I now would only carry 6 and have plenty of room for necessary utilities.
As a change and possible add on, I also ran it with a flyye right angle belt w/ suspenders. Fit perfectly underneath and was super low profile. That was when I was carrying a fully equipped secondary and added tools/non standard gear for normal rec games.

Haha they all sound really tempting, I thought about using a 6094 with PIG but I didn't want to look like I was copying the GMR. But I really appreciate the input guys, if I get an opportunity to see one of those vests come through my local army surplus store, I'll try them on and see which one suits me better.
EDIT: I forgot to ask earlier, and I hate to double-post, but if I were to get (for example) the 6094 in Coyote Brown, do you think the Triple Kangaroo pouch that I currently have in the top pic will look good with it color wise? I prefer to have my pouches set up that way and would prefer to keep the pouch.

Color wise its really only a few shades lighter. You should be fine.

If you like the 6094a with the PIG cummerbund, go for it. Don't worry about looking like GMR. If it works and you like it, go for it; fuck the haters.

Yeah no need to worry about hate. I was called a gmr wanna be f*g for using blue force pouches on top of my APC kangaroo pouch. Let them call you what they want but, when your more functional and happy with what you got it doesn't even matter.

I had a 6094 with PIG cummerbund and I'll admit it was flat-out inspired by GMR. I watched the Youtube video and was sold. Hell, it's a practical set-up that keeps things slim on the sides which makes stuff on the battlebelt easier to reach.
I don't know shit about the GMR guys and have never played with them. I'm not a hardcore milsim player and I certainly didn't set out to be a GMR-wannabe, but when I see smart decisionmaking regarding gear I tend to take note.
Use what works for you and screw what anyone else thinks.

If you want to save some money over going the APC/Elastic C-bund route. Look into a TAG/Shellback Tactical Banshee. It is both cheaper than the first option and includes side straps.

Sounds like you just want to run something slick. You can do that with any 6094, APC, Banshee, or a number of other plate carriers. Those are also shorter plate carriers as well so you can get to the belt line easier.
