Like bishop said, it wouldn't be a bad idea to to the extra mile and get a KWA either, as their gearboxes are RENOUN for just performing amazingly.

I would not say they are renown for amazing performance. Their use of proprietary parts make them a pain to deal with. The one KWA I owned gave me nothing but problems literally from the day I purchased it. I do know several people who have KWA aegs and they've preformed well, but I know just as many who had nothing but problems. If you're going to spend the money, there are many more options that give as good if not better performance.

I've had it since June of 2010. Never opened the gearbox, never ran anything but 11.1V LiPo's, ran it in super dusty environments, and in all out drenching rainfall. Last weekend it chrono'd at 353, 352, 353, 352, with .30 Biovals. The only thing I've done to it, other than external appearance is a Prometheus 6.03 inner barrel, and an R-hop. It started life as a KWA KM4 RIS.

I've had the same experience as Tank except my gun is older. Once I switched to the 2GX gearbox I haven't had any problems. My first shell cracked. It was a common manufacturer's defect so they gave me the option of a free shell or a full gearbox at cost.

I blew my brand new KWA up just by putting a 11.1 Lipo in it. 2GX gearbox blew with the 2nd trigger pull. Replaced the gearbox and it is working fine now. I have had great luck with G&P Gear box's.

I've had HORRIBLE experiences with G&P. I went through three $280 Ak-47s with them, everytime it was their crappy M120 motor shorting out on me. Also, I bought a long type M120 that shorted out after around 4,000 rounds.

My G&P build with an M120 motor has been running for over a year at close to 30rps. It is a pretty rock solid motor from everybody I know that runs it.

I'm honestly not sure. I used a 7.4v lipo on the aks, and no, I didn't hold down full auto extremely long or anything, I used it like a normal person. I won it originally in a BoA from Evike, and it kept breaking. Later on I decided to buy a G&P M120 High Speed Motor to increase RoF in my D-Boys M4, and it worked amazing for about two weeks on a 9.6V Nimh. Then the motor broke. I later tested it in a perfectly working Lancer Tactical and it still wouldn't work.

Proper motor height adjustment?

Yes, I fiddled with it quite a bit. It would make a noise like it wanted to spin, but couldn't. I tried an 8.4v NiMh, and a 9.6v, and both worked fine in conjunction with other motors.
