Ok so I've been wanting a sniper rifle for my personal pleasure. I'm trying to figure out what to get, and money off the bat is really tight. I'm looking at a few things and I know I should be able to upgrade over time so that may be my best bet. Anyways here's my issue. I'm finding options but don't know exactly what I may or may not want. This is why i'm turning to you my brothers and sisters in arms. Help me out a bit please and thank-you. My options and ideas. I believe these would be VSR-10 Clones so i'd have those upgrade options... Option 1: MetalTac MP001 Airsoft Sniper Rifle Bolt Action Airsoft GunOption 2: BBTac - AGM MP001 Sniper Rifle VSR-10 BOLT ACTION Airsoft Sniper Gun, BlackHere's the other form factor. To my knowledge it falls under the SR-2/ASR class. Option 1: Spring SD98 Style FPS-300 Airsoft Sniper Rifle w/ BipodBasically to sum it up. What are your opinions? VSR-10 clone, or the SD98 Type rifle? Personally the VSR-10 is more aesthetically pleasing to me, but really is there such a major difference?

I'd say stay away from all 3 of those and go for something a little more "main stream" Only because you will know what your actually getting and there are enough people with a knowledge of them to help you out if you need it.
If you have a $50 limit, I'd say wait and save up more. I'd prefer to pay $200 and use it for 2 years over paying $50 and replacing it every 6 months.
Just my opinion though, take it or leave it. It's what you want to do with the money you own, not mine.

Personal experience, those VSR-10 clones there can't hit anything, and I'm fairly certain they don't accept standard VSR-10 parts.
Your best bet would probably be to save up enough for something like this (http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=139_113&products_id=9797)

If you absolutely have to choose between the three you listed, I would go with the third option. The rifle uses aps-2 parts which are fairly common and upgrades down the road are cheap up until the trigger box, hop up and bolt upgrades. Vsr-10 models have a wide range of parts available, however many of them may not fit the clone rifle perfectly and will require some work in order to fit. I personally use a UTG Shadow Ops L96 and I love it. The older snipers frown upon the use of clones, but I can tell you that it works just fine with the proper care. Be prepared for the cost of upgrades. Whether a VSR-10 or an APS-2 rifle, the upgrades are the expensive part. Here is what you will end up upgrading in an APS-2 style rifle. The upgrade kit containing a new spring, spring guide and piston will be about $40. The piston head will be $10-$15. With a new spring you will need a full metal trigger box because the plastic stock one will shatter. One of these can be anywhere from $30 ( basic trigger box) to $130 ( zero trigger). Eventually your stock hop up will break, and a new one will cost about $60 (Minimum), but the upgraded hop ups only take AEG barrels so you'll need a new one of those to to the tune of $40-$60. Not to mention the Teflon coated or otherwise stronger upgraded bolt will run ~$100. So you can estimate about $285-$300 in upgrades (at the cheapest) to get 300ft range with decent accuracy as well as more than a 1 year operational life from your rifle. All of the links added are a guide as to the style and quality of part you will need. By no means are you required to get that exact part. I can only vouch for these parts specifically because I use them myself.

well guys that answers exactly what I was looking for. I appreciate the replies and will eventually update this whenever I'm able to get something... I'm fairly certain I'll end up just saving up until I can get something a bit pricier that will last longer.
