Has anyone tried a sniper only game? I've really wanted to try it out but I also was looking for some more experienced players' input. I have 40 acres so size is no issue for 40 or less... Whatcha think guys?

There was a game like this held at Bangor years ago. I know Oakey, Tex and Mosin all participated in it or had something to do with it. You might ask Canto about it as well.

Well how'd it go? And is it something you'd be interested in doing again? Was there a gap between weapon abilities that was unfair? That's my main concerns right now

1) It went extremely well I believe. I did a 24 hour continuous game, the unfortunate part is I passed out as well as the rest of the staff, so the players went about two hours without anyone on the field. A lot of guys that went or were around that time know about it, I named it the "Midwest Sniper Cup 2008" as that was the year that it was held.
2) I'm very interested in doing one again, right now my hands are tied in both getting out of the Military as well as hosting Operation: Geronimo and trying to make sure real life affairs are in order to sustain myself. Once a few things are lined up though and pending on the outcome of Operation: Geronimo, I wouldn't be surprised if I hit the drawing board on a Midwest Sniper Cup 2013/14.
3) There wasn't really a gap, it was only two man sniper/spotter teams allowed, and majority of the weapon platforms brought out to the event were able to reach around the same distance, so nothing super unfair in that aspect. Just have to make sure the people you allow to play on the field are on the same level of professionalism in that they aren't just kids with UTG L96's and Wal*Mart Ghillie suits.
Feel free to ask anything else, you've (semi) perked my interest in getting one of those going again.

I bought a upgraded UTG L96 for 270 with a bunch of other gear, the L96 had about 400 dropped into it and I plan on dropping alteast another 200 into upgrades so I would be interested in this event. I might be able to get my friend deputy interested as well since he has a upgraded Bar10 capable of reaching out to 300 ft.

Well, I'd rather not go down that road, I've argued that until my face was blue and until I ran out of facts and physics to throw out there to sway minds that clones aren't that great. In any case, everyone on the field at the event I hosted I believe had a Maruzen platform, so everyone was reaching about the same length.

What weapon platform can the spotter use? Standards m4 spotter load out? I have a nice spotting scope, some really nice binoculars and more camo cloth than I know what to do with.

I think most of the spotters last time used some sort of Semi-auto DMR style platform. Correct me if I'm wrong someone.

I'm starting to save now for a rifle for this... The last sniper cup sounds like it was a complete blast and I've really been waiting to see another one come up. It's awesome to see such an awesome type of event here in Michigan. Cant wait for your permanent return Mosin!

Mosin, that sounds like something amazing. What would the age limit be for the sniper cup? What would the spotter be able to use?
