I'd be interested in helping out provided I can make the trip downstate.

I would love the chance to learn something new from the more experienced players, although I may be older than some of them. My nephew and I want to get into playing Milsims, this sounds like the perfect opportunity to help the transition. Additionally, he has a few friends getting into airsoft who are also interested in this learning experience. You can at least count on me to attend this type of event.

This is exactly the kind of response we're hoping for. Don't worry about being old. I am attending my 20th high school reunion this weekend. There are guys on my team that were 1 when I graduated, and some that weren't even born yet.

Hell, I've been playing for almost 10 years and I would like to participate if only to see how someone else does it. I like to see how others think on the field. Maybe they know something I don't and if not at least I know what to expect them to do when I'm playing with or against them.

Well since this seems like something a lot of players are interested in we will start planning it out.
As an added bonus, we may be trying to set up something extra special to take place that day as well.

Been to Vegas a few times. Lots of billboards with half naked dudes. Right. I'm sure that's why. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I totally forgot about that. Tank was there the last time we went to Vegas and I kept telling him "Don't you want to see Thunder from Down Under? There's nothing gay about it. It's really manly. Oh I know you want to..." That became the running joke all week. Nothing was homosexual in nature, it was just really manly. Yep, that's what happens when you work all day, drink all night, and skip that sleep part in the middle.

It is awesome to see so many vets are interested in this. I wasn't sure how it would go over. Our original concern was that a ton of new players would say that they were interested, and then have three people show up. That's why we are planning on having these events tied into the normal REC game at No Limits. If there are players who want to do this, we have the space and vets who are willing to help out. If no one is interested, we still have the 50-80 players who are there to just play airsoft. Ideally we are looking to do this during the summer months, as this is when more players are attending events. Good call, because GK had this exact problem with our mil-sim orientation concept. Lots of interest, but only 2 people actually showed up. I think having a 2:1 ratio of weird old dudes to new players was counter-productive insofar as we were throwing information at them faster than they could take it in. I was one of the two that attended the GK orientation, and I definitely enjoyed it, and learned quite a bit. I still use the teamwork skills you guys taught me to this day. It's a shame that only myself and RAGE showed up for this event, it was very informative and a lot of fun. Plus, the GK guys are just good people in general. If an event in the future popped up similar to the previous one, I would highly recommend the "newbs" to attend. It will significantly benefit you in the long run.

As someone only playing for a year, I'd go if I managed a ride.
