Here's a little project I've been working on. Everyone's seen a standalone M203 launcher before. I decided that I wanted to make a legit master-key using a shell-fed UTG tri-shot and this is what happened: I'll have to put up some updated photos of the master-key attached to a gun.

That's kick ass, Arc! Can't wait to see the masterkey on a gat.

Now that is just plain cool. I'd like to see this be able to use both the master-key AND the M203 combined.

Mike... You just made a regular shotgun out of an M203 stock.

The only problem I can foresee is that the UTG is mostly plastic, right (not much metal going on there)? I'd be afraid that after enough use, it would snap off the RIS mount from cocking it without a secondary type front mount or something like most barrel mounted M203's have.

Mike... You just made a regular shotgun out of an M203 stock. Basically its a masterkey that can mount onto any RIS. But yeah, when I don't want it to be a masterkey anymore I just mount it on the M203 thing and it becomes a regular shotgun. The only problem I can foresee is that the UTG is mostly plastic, right (not much metal going on there)? I'd be afraid that after enough use, it would snap off the RIS mount from cocking it without a secondary type front mount or something like most barrel mounted M203's have. Yeah the UTG is pretty much all plastic. The weak point is definitely the connection where the RIS mount connects to the gun. That has been screwed on to the shotgun and a nut underneath the plastic skin is holding it in place. There's also a whole lot of aheasive in addition all the way around the base of the RIS mount. As a final safety, the upper plastic portion of the shotgun where the RIS is attached is also screwed onto the main inner parts of the shotgun at two points (where it doesn't interfere with the internals). It's not the strongest thing in the world but for now it will hold. I'm definitely looking into giving it a little more of a bite for strength though so that the force isn't just transferred onto the RIS mount but is more spread out.

Actually this could be pretty cool if you made them hot swappable, QD mounts are necessary. Then you could theoretically have something mission adaptable. Also, you should try and figure out how to make foam slugs on the cheap and then use a cut down gas shotgun.

The M203 has an inner guide that the m203 rides along, doesn't it? It may be worth it to make one for the shotgun to ride along inside of the stand-alone M203 inner part in front of where you attach it via RIS. When I was debating about doing the exact same thing, I was going to make a U mount for the shotgun to sit in that would go in front and behind the trigger as well as cover the body. Then I was going to get a RIS top from a broken M203 and weld it to a flat plate, then weld the flat plate to the U bracket around the shotgun, making it a snug fit around the shotgun. I lost interest in the project however. Something like this; (Sorry for using paint, didn't feel like using PS for such a quick edit).
