Planning to have my A&K M-60 VN get an overhaul before Op. Lion Claws. Last thing I want is to have a break down when I am there. And in all honesty, it's starting to show it's age with the ROF going down and range is getting worse it seems.
I already have a piston head that has maybe 4000-6000 rounds though it and a 6.03 tight bore installed already. The 4 batteries I have for it (3 9.6 and one 8.4) still works perfectly fine. Holds the charge no problem. Planning to put a new SHS high speed motor in it soon. Bought it last year and never used it. It has been shimmed by one of the techs on this site.
I have seen over posts about the best set up and parts for AEGs but most of those are at least a year old so there might be a new part out that is better than said in that older post. Basically this post will help me double check my n00b logic and going though reviews. I don't want to be spending a ton of cash on this either. The accuracy is pretty good already. FPS is good but there's nothing wrong with adding a few extra rounds to the FPS just in case. The range is pretty suckie but I think that's because the hop up is broken so that might be the problem to the range. Or the buckling might be shredded.
-Madbull M110 spring. FPS might be high but after a few months of use, it will be in that green zone. Doesn't cost that much either. I would like to put a M120 spring in but I am worried that it might be to hot. Seems like a bunch of people puts a M120 in. Thoughts? Right now, its shooting 310 fps.
-Echo 1 / Modify Version 3 Spring Guide with Bearings. From what I saw and heard from people, bearings in a spring guide is a good idea. Plus it's full metal.
-Guarder Poly Carb. piston. Someone at one of the last MiA mega games told me this would be a good one for a high speed set up. When I had the piston put in by the tech, he did tell me that the pistol was looking torn up. That was last summer.
-R hop up or ER hop up. Drawing a blank which one is the best but one of the tech guys in my group does pretty good work for a good price.
-Hop up bucking. So many to pick which one but the G&G Hop Up Bucking looks pretty good to me.
Time for the "should I put these in?" section:
-Gearbox that comes with bushings vs buying a gearbox and buying a different set of bushings. I have been thinking about buying a new gear box shell anyway. One of those: better safe than sorry things and like what I said before, it's an older gun so I am worried that it might crack soon.
-Gears. Would I be better off with getting a high speed gear set or be safe with one of those reinforced/tougher gear set up?
Last question: in what order should I buy everything? I have a feeling the buckling might be the first.
