PM sent Soulless; thanks for your time and information.
[Edit] I've been too busy with other things to do the communication, OP attendance, and research this project requires. I hope people will continue to post information; however I will not be frequenting MiA, so please expect a delay in my responses.
[Edit] Special thanks to Canto for the updates he provided about FLAK and Armory Airsoft which is now newly added.

My Surplus store project is mostly concluded, as the update should show. I appreciate all the help you've offered, and hope to see you out on the fields soon.
A big thanks to Cats for all his hard work to keep this project alive!

Viper requested we move his group, The NightHawks, to Saline; so it's been done.

I'm not sure if anyone has suggested this or not, but have you ever considered taking the project to a national level? I have a few connections with the gentlemen over at TCASPR (The Center for Airsoft Statistics and Player Relations) that would be extremely interested in this on a national level to create a sort of thermal map of the airsoft community. I have considered it; but it doesn't seem fieasiable to do, I haven't received positive feedback from major community members here, and absolutely no prominent community members have had interest in actually joining the project. I even left the acronym open so it could be changed to "Mapping Airsoft Project" in case it did go big.
It could be possible to do a national map with the resources that are currently available; however there are two key problems with this:
1) Verifying information takes a lot of work. I've had probably 30-50 "teams" contact me to be added to MAP that I've excluded; usually because they are a single new player who wants to get his unknown (likely non-existent) team some attention. I want everyone to have a fair chance to be included; but if your not a known member of an online community or I haven't played with you, then I don't want to add your group since I'll likely have to remove it in the future. Which brings me to the second concern.
2) Keeping information updated is difficult. If the map isn't up-to-date then people will quit using it. To keep it updated it takes people who are familiar and active in the community, people who are willing to talk to players AND keep in touch with them. Unless I could get two major community members (like forum admins, store owners, large event hosts) from each state to join the project, then it would be impossible to do.
Another concern I have is the limitations with using Google Maps. A national MAP would require either a diffrent system or each state would need their ownfield Google Map. I've also had teams decline to be on MAP because they don't like Google knowing they exist.
I'm glad you brought this up though; that way I could put my thoughts about the topic in writing. I'll shoot you a PM sometime though, I'm interested to hear more about TCASPR.
On a final note; next spring I will be contacting all teams listed on MAP to do a huge update before the summer airsoft season. I am already aware of some errors with MAP caused by allowing new groups to be posted; these likely won't be fixed untill then.
[EDIT] I have received positive feedback from some major players; just remembered a couple and I don't want to be unkind and forget them. Thanks you guys, you know who you are.
I'd also like to thank all the groups who have PM'd me to update their teams information. You all make my work wayyyy easier!

There is an airsoft store not too far from my house that I have stopped in a few times to look around. The owner has always been friendly and helpful. (I don't see it on your map. The info is below if you wish to add it.) Commandos Airsoft Guns 6689 Middlebelt Road Garden City, MI 48135 (313) 829-8299 commandosairsoftguns.com/newarrivals.html

Hey there Pyzik; thanks a ton for your contribution. Not only did you link us to one store but its two sister locations as well, AND you helped us remove the now "defunct" Eastside Airsoft! It's contributions like this that really make it easier on Puma1 and myself.
The old Eastside info has been removed and the three Commando's Airsoft Guns locations have been added!

MASSIVE MAP OVERHAUL! (Spring 2014) Over the next three weeks the MAP team will be completely overhauling the current MAP to update and make it even more useful! This includes updating all the information to a newer format, updating all changes made since the last update, streamlining the initial post, and making MAP marker data more consistent and comprehensive. We will be contacting all groups currently listed on MAP to update their information and confirm that they still exist. Groups that do not respond by March 8th will be removed from MAP. This process will be repeated bi-annually in the Spring and Fall in an attempt to keep MAP updated. We have removed the "special thanks" list in the initial post because it has become rather long and cumbersome to keep updated. If we receive significant negative feedback for removing it, then we will bring it back. In an effort to make MAP less bias, we have also removed all minimum requirements for teams/groups to be listed on MAP. So if you have previously been turned down in the past for MAP, please fill out the new forum and post it here and YOU WILL BE ADDED! To counter the problems caused by this, we have made the team/group information we collect more detailed. Teams/groups that have only 1 member will still be declined for obvious reasons. Teams from other states adjacent to Michigan are now also welcome to be listed on MAP! If you know someone or want your out-of-state team listed, fill out the new form and post below. We will be posting a complete change log after the three week period has passed. If your group was removed during this period DON'T WORRY, just post your information here using the new format and we will re-add you to MAP ASAP! Here is a copy of the updated information forum, this forum is also available in the initial MAP post: Special thanks goes to everyone who has helped with this project and those who continue to help! We hope MAP can continue to be a valuable resource for new and existing airsoft players alike!

Thank you misfit61 for the information; however, part of removing the minimum requirements and allowing any new team to be listed on MAP is holding everyone to a higher standard. So if you'd like your group listed, we really need you to complete the entire questionnaire.
I also forgot to mention that in future updates we will only be asking 1 - 2 questions. Doing a large update like this was against our better judgment, but we really wanted a strong base to build from with this version of MAP.
Special thanks to every team who has provided information so far; this project wouldn't be possible without the contributions made by the many community members of MiA!

Contact Information 1) Currently, there is only this one (CStingerGhost1). I am the leader of the GSAT, and I am managing this account. 2) My public email is CStingerGhost1@gmail.com, and my second-in-command's is ltkillert92@gmail.com. 3) No 4) Our primary YouTube channel: www.youtube.com/user/CStingerGhost15) No 6) Facebook: www.facebook.com/pages/Ghost-Squadron-Airsoft-Team/702956396391366 Google+: plus.google.com/b/109054449257929624792/109054449257929624792/postsRecruitment Information 1) What is your team's recruitment policy: Public with prerequisites (rather strict) 2) It is a very loose requirement, based more on maturity than age. However, we do not accept anyone younger than 14, no exceptions. Those younger than 16 must show appropriate maturity. 3) Only at events 4) No 5) Under certain circumstances, but not on a regular basis Extra Information 1) tinypic.com/r/3fnki/8 (I hope that works. If it does not, please message me and I will find another way.) 2) We are an airsoft team of mature players who are very experienced (some have been playing for 10+ years) and excited about the sport of airsoft. Our goal is to have fun and help other people in the airsoft community. 3) FearRoback, of Futureball Airsoft, is a member of our team. He has already placed a marker on Futureball. I am not sure if this is of any importance, but I figured that I would post it anyways. Also, in case you want to see more of us or what we do, check out our YouTube channel. It has a lot of airsoft content on it (Just, don't watch the old stuff. It sucks). There is a link above. -Stinger, Captain of the GSAT

That's cool FearRoback is with you guys, I'll probably be contacting him in the next couple weeks about Futureball; we'll be updating all the fields and stores after we finish the team updates.
