I'm trying to see what brand this is, the guy selling it has no clue either as the box seems to be in Japanese(?). Any info you might know about it would be appreciated too. Thanks

"Electric spring gun" Is it one of those dual-powered guns? The trigger on it has a different shape than other MP5's I've seen, and the top of the magazine is not the standard TM MP5 style.

It looks like the JG logo on the box. The mag looks to be a hi cap, that's how a lot of mp5 hicap tops look.

My CA's high cap looks much shorter and more compact on the top.

My CA's high cap looks much shorter and more compact on the top. Note that I didn't say ALL mp5 hicaps, but a lot of them. Here is an Echo 1 hicap.

Don't know that much about trademark laws but maybe that trade mark shown on the box isn't JG but someone using the same logo without the JG on it. I have never seen a gun come with a screw driver before. Does it come with a battery at all? I know on my stock JG 74, the battery that came with it said JG works on it.

I have no idea, I do not own this gun, all I have are the pictures and I'm trying to figure out if it'd be worth buying, or what brand it is, etc.

Googling for MP5A5 and "2898" (the part number on the box) scores hits at Hobbytron and Airsoftgunsexpress, but neither lists a brand name. They also claim it as a 150fps gun and sell it for $23. Since it could easily be just such a POS replica, I'd stay away from it unless the guy's willing to let you pay with a big bag of empty cans.

He says that it is metal... Even more confusing now that you say it is probably just a crappy replica.
He now tells me it was from hobbytron, but about eight years ago and the $23 one is plastic.
He also says that he payed $120 for it when he bought it.

I would avoid the gun if you can.
The box does not look correct. While JG does/did make an MP5A5, they put it under the "MP5-J" title. When checking that model, the box does not match the pictures. The JG was packed in a simple brown cardboard box, with cardboard inserts instead of styrofoam. From the couple of reviews on the model I could track down, the JG is all plastic construction as well. Unless you can verify for a fact the model, do not trust it.

Well, I'm rather convinced it is in fact that $23 version, thank you for the help. I was trying to find out a way to tell between the JG version and the picture, and then realized that the coloring on the fire selector was backwards, full auto and semi should be red, not white.
