So I found out my current primary has a plastic gearbox (not surprising due to price). One of my team-mates offerred me his G&G Combat Machine M4 Raider with a new metal tightbore barrel and a mock suppressor for around $110. Without the two additions it'd be around $95. I'd like to know if this would be a smart choice on my part, plus I'd like to know of past experiences/problems with the weapon. Thanks everyone!

Everyone 'round here seems to love combat machines. I've never owned one, but a friend has one and I do like it. Not a bad price or choice.

It's a great beginner gun, my favorite out of the starting series offered by most companies. I don't own the raider, but I own the Carbine. My buddy/teammate owns the Raider, both are awesome guns. I usually lend the Carbine to my girlfriend when she plays (it's a decently light gun compared to other brands). Which is a plus for most people starting out (or for younger people).

I own a G&G blowback M4 which is essentially a combat machine. Mines ran fine so far because I've taken care of it. Rate of fire may not be up to par which higher end AEGs but it defiantly is a reliable starter gun for sure.

Thank you everyone for the great feedback! Mayhem, it's pretty cool that your girlfriend plays, even if it's only every once in awhile, large lack of females into the sport. Thanks again, Austin (ra6idpenguin or Penguin)
