What do you guys think? I've been told recently that they're better then the CM, reliably-wise. Is this true? From what I've heard, they're rather new in the US. What think ye?

Our go-to budget AEG has always been the combat machine around here, but King Arms has dropped the price on their guns a ton. You can get a full metal King Arms with licensed trades for just a bit more than the CM, and they're coming out pretty reliable. I'd take the King Arms in this situation. www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=139_24_152&products_id=7783

I have a king arms custom build right now. If you don't mess with the internals much, it should last a while. King arms internals are really good for the price, almost as good as g&p. The gears are very nice, shimmed almost perfectly, and the piston assembly is also nice.
I have a few complaints though:
1. My outer body cracked when I took the gun apart. There is a big ass crack on the corner where the body meets the pistol grip. 2. Gearbox shell cracked 3. Gearbox screws strip very easily 4. Angle of Engagement is not adjusted.
All of these are problems that 95% of the time won't happen if you do not take the gun apart. Of course, without breaking stuff, you never learn, but that is a different story ( my gun shoots 32 rps).
All $0.02 is that you should go with a lonex or king arms. Sure, everyone has had a combat machine but these ka and lonex are great guns stock with metal bodies, and they will rock with a 9.6. With combat machine you have to worry about the body (not sure how much the metal ones are) and the sub par internals.
Now, if you only play cqb, the long 14.5 barrels will be very annoying and you will have to swap the springs for 350 fps.

I don't usually play CQB. I prefer outdoors. Anything on the Classic Army Sportline?

Drewroud was that the metal body that cracked? Also, Abbot, the king arms cqbr you linked to is okay, but the ones that are a complete steal are the metal ones. Here is a link to one www.airrattle.com/King_Arms_Full_Metal_Colt_M4A1_Airsoft_Gun_p/18970.htmI've seen it cheaper on airsoft station but it appears to be out of stock right now. Obviously the basic m4 doesn't look as cool as the m4 CQBR you linked to but the metal body is a way nicer starting point and you likely won't get tired of it as soon.

Drewroud was that the metal body that cracked? Yeah, it's the metal body version, it doesn't affect performance or gb placement but it is annoying as hell to have a giant crack on the receiver.

Drewroud,
The break occurred when you were disassembling/assembling the rifle? Are we talking about "assembling" as in throwing it across the room or actually being gentle with it?
I'm interested in these trademarked KA replicas because they seem to be a solid alternative to G&Ps, but hearing that the body could break so easily is a little scary.
It's also too bad that KA doesn't make a full length M16 variant...

Disassembling, I used a hammer to takeout the pins, must have hit it too hard. I am super gentle with my guns though, so I was really upset.

So, I went with the CM (A1 black version after all). Really considered the KA, but I needed a gun soon, so I just went with the CM A1. Kinda wanted a rail but... I'll live. I decided on black because I when I put a RIS system in the future, I'll probably get a black RIS. Also Gimpalong's sig with the M4 looks plain awesome. I'm a sucker for a good looking M4... Thanks for all the help. I'll probably sell my MP5 SD5 with the 5 mags to get mags and TBB for the CM. You guys are the best! Heads up! PM me if you want the MP5. I know Flopper (Ozone) can testify to the reliability of it. Cheers!
