I have a Condor vest very similar to this one, though mine was a bit cheaper. I know a lot of people say you should stay away from these generic brands, however I have had mine since 2009 and it has held up great.

Condor's not really a generic brand, they're pretty widespread... just the bottom tier of commonly known gear, and definitely not ones to make much original product. I can agree though; all my condor stuff has held up to light abuse just fine, it's perfectly good starter kit. Naturally harder-going players are going to want some higher durability kit eventually.

The thing is if you have $100 to spend on a vest then condor is not the way you want to go. You can get good real gear for that much.

Most of the Condor stufd I've had has shown serious premature wear, from badly frayed edges to stitching coming out, to the elastic doing that bacon thing. A lot of times with their MOLLE vests, you get entire columns of PALS loops that are too narrow to weave a pouch through or some other similar problem. I agree with ctres that if you have enough for that vest, you have enough for something better. He'll suggest real gear, whih if you can find it for that price is definitely the way to go. If not, Pantac and FLYYE make some very high quality reproduction gear in a similar price range. For instance, you can grab a FLYYE replica of the Eagle Plate Carrier for about $110 on www.shootercbgear.com, or $130 with a full pouch set. That would be a huge stp up from Condor, though again, a step down from a lot of real steel options.

I guess I just got lucky with my Condor PC then, I have used the crap out of my gear for the last 3 years and have no problems thus far.

That's great, I'm glad it has worked out for you, but the point I am trying to make is that there is no reason to buy knockoff gear from whatever brand no matter how good or bad it is IF you can get comparable real gear for the same price.

I don't think I ever advised him to do so ? I simply said I have had a condor that has lasted me 3 years. Right?...Right.

I don't know, I haven't had any problems with any Condor gear that I have...and I put it through hard abuse at times. I'm not saying to not get FLYYE as it is great stuff, but just giving some input on Condor.

Condor is hit or miss in my opinion. The only thing I can say to stay away from is their drop leg holsters.

Their jackets and apparel are good quality, I've had my soft shell for almost a year now, and only a few small holes in one pocket have formed. All the pouches I run on my rig are Condor, and they hold up well. The only bad I've had with Condor was one of their older backpacks, a ton of buckles and zippers broke, but structurally, the backpack was still in good shape.

I don't know about the hit or miss thing, I have owned quite a bit of Condor products and I haven't had one complaint. I could have just had about 45 hits in a row...but that seems unrealistic to me, haha.

Doesn't this get discussed to death like every other week? All in all there is nothing wrong with Condor for the average airsofter, it just doesn't make sense to buy it when you can get real steel gear that is better quality (whether you need it or not) for the same price.
