I heard that Aor1 or Aor2 patterns were property of the U.S. Government and were only aloud to be given to Elite Naval Forces. The news article went on and on about the NSW trades also.

Just cause its only issued to those high speed types doesn't make illegal to own whatsoever. The government seems to have bigger fish to fry than AOR printed clothing and gear.

Generally the deployment kits that those guys are given are essentially considered more or less disposable. That means that when they get out NSW guys can sell of the stuff they don't want. This goes for other kits as well like SFLCS and old MLCS kits.

I heard that Aor1 or Aor2 patterns were property of the U.S. Government and were only aloud to be given to Elite Naval Forces. The news article went on and on about the NSW trades also. The AOR1 (desert) and AOR2 (green) patterns are a relatively new pattern for the US Navy and the AOR2 is also used by some Coast Guard PSU units and USCG members deployed to Bahrain/PATFORSWA with the USN. It's not illegal but it is hard as balls to find, and when you do find it, even the legit used US Military Issue stuff on Ebay, it's ridiculously expensive. I've been searching for a few weeks now, and have yet to find it anywhere for anything less than about 150-180 for either the top or bottom BDU. From what I can find, it is not yet commercially available, and only certain Military units are issued this gear.

I suspect you're getting it mixed up with some of the requirements the Govt. imposes on companies. Many of them are not allowed to sell AOR1/AOR2 gear to unauthorized parties, whether they are military or civilian. There's nothing illegal about buying or selling AOR1 or AOR2 gear.
The newer standard issue NWUII and NWUIIIs are fairly easy to find, they're issued to a wide range of Navy personal. Connors, those prices seem pretty high for NWUs. I've been selling mine at around 100-130 a piece, throw me a PM with what sizes/colors you're looking for and I'll see what I can do.
