Well guys, a buddy of mine has access to a machine shop, he is currently making me an aluminum piston for my M28. If this works well, we will be making more. Are there any M28 owners still out there looking for pistons? I will have my prototype piston in a few days and will test it beyond what we'd recommend for power till I kill it so we can know where its fail point is. If all goes well, we will be ready to slam some out for others who are interested. I will report my thoughts on it as soon as I can. Dust off your M28's guys! Its time to get them back in the game again...

You and me both ;D. I was pretty much over the M28 after it being down so long and I built up a sweet Bar10 using the M28 stock, magwell and mags. I now have to take my Bar10 all back apart again so I can rebuild my M28,hahaha.. Oh well, its for a good cause though right?
My buddy wants to make a new design for pistons but he's looking at some patent issues "Costs $1,500 and cant sell his patented item for a year from the day he pantents it I guess" Sounds pretty stupid that he has to wait a year. So he will be doing standard style for now. I think I get to test his design till patents are clear so thats cool.

Well guys, here she is, all finished and ready for my testing! Bottom piston is our prototype M28 piston, center one is the stock M28 piston and the top is a Vsr piston.. The rear of the new piston is not aluminum, it is steel. Has a delron ring and its pretty nice! Here is a video of me testing its compression. I only held the air in the cylinder for 10 seconds and released but I have held it for 20 seconds already and it held perfectly!

Is your buddy capable of milling up a cylinder/tail one piece?

I can ask him Deacon. Timm, I will post more pics and reviews. I am testing the piston and every hundred shots I take the piston out, and take pics and give my opinions of it. I have slacked a little on here. I am going to post a bunch tomorrow. Were about to start production any time now. This steel sear catch itsnt going to pop any time soon thats for sure! I will post in the commerce when were ready.

Since I forgot to post last time here is the last few reviews up to date. Last weeks review I got to use the M28 today with its pretty new piston. Between last night, fiddling with my rifle getting it to feed and todays game, and I let everyone try it out, I have put about a hundred shots through it already. I am only shooting at 421fps cause I need stronger sears before I bump up to 500fps. Here are the pics I took a few minutes ago so we can all see how its holding up. I found no wear on the piston except a little on the delrin spacer. I have little to no fear that this will blow out and I am going to be ordering some SHS sears very soon so I can try my hardest to kill this piston. I plan to try to shoot this rifle everyday and keep count. I figure maybe 25-50 shots per day till I get my sears. I will take pics every hundred shots and post them. If you have any questions, please ask. ............................................................... Well guys, I got to 200 shots and here are my findings. @ I really didnft see anything I didnft expect. The sear catch looks beautiful! I did see a few scratches but thatfs expected. I cant believe I would be using my M28 again. I hope you guys are excited as we are. I will try to get out more shots faster, I received a few pmfs asking if Ifm still updating tonight, I have nothing else to say.. Ifm sorry guys, I know its pretty hard not to be excited to use these awesome rifles again. Herefs a few pics. I tried white and black background trying to find the best way to see the details in the piston. I will get my next hundred shot report sooner next time. ........................................................................................ UP TO DATE as of 8-13 ....... I am now at 300 shots and the piston is still perfect! We are considering a wider delron ring. We have decided to go ahead and start making these for others, there is no way this sear catch is going to wear out. I will post in the sales section when we have a few made and ready to sell. Price will be decided by then. I covered the sear catch in sharpy to show any new scratches to check for wear. All I found was the sharpy was rubbed off.

Good news and bad news,hahaha.. Today while testing the new pistons my cylinder snapped. The good news, his piston is ok, just not as strong as I hoped for. He is going to make another but stronger and more good news.. I have a brand new cylinder on its way to me.. Should be about 4 days. We will pick up where we left off when I get it.

I recieved my M28 cylinder from Fox airsoft and with the VERY FIRST time racking the bolt, the stupid stock piston blew out,hahaha.. I am trying to set up a day to go check out the new pistons my machinist is making. If all goes well, were ready for business. Here is the website I have been building, its not 100% done yet but its ready enough to show. rangerscustoms.wix.com/rangerscustoms#!home/mainPage

I was figuring the standard would only cost about $40-$45 "standard piston in this picture is not our piston but looks exactly like it." The standard version is perfect for the people who dont wanna spend as much, and want they're M28 up and running right away. and the upgraded version would be closer to $55-$60 The upgraded pistons may not have the slots, this would be for a later version. I believe either way I can get this up and going. I can do the upgraded versions as well. Will just cost a few more bucks but its not too bad. If anyone is willing to prepay, let me know asap, and let me know what version you want. These will be custom made to order. I just need to get a few people together for this to work.. I am ready to get this going if you guys are.

I ended up just buying my own lathe and am making the pistons myself. the one on the right is for a Vsr/Bar10, left is for the M28.
