Swung by Lake Orion today to try to get two of my AEGs fixed - one being the infamous M733 turned M933, and the other being the D-Boys AK-74U I bought from crazyrabbit many moons ago.

While shooting the shit with Jason while he was working, I found out that he used to be employed at AirsoftGI and Evike as a tech for several years, so he definitely knows his way around a gearbox. He talked me through the steps he was taking to diagnose and fix issues, and displayed a solid knowledge of the craft.
TM M933
A few years ago I sent it out to a tech to get it fixed up, received it back dead on arrival. Tried to get it up and running with Dahm, but all we had to show for it was a broken tab on the upper receiver. Fast forward to now, I'm trying to sell the damn thing, but figure I might as well try to salvage some value out of it. Jason quickly diagnosed the various issues with the gearbox, replaced a broken gear or two, and reshimmed the thing while I was observing. Voila, the gearbox works! Unfortunately, my metal body I purchased was no good, so I need a few more parts before my original AEG is up and running again - at least I know it's not a total loss and I just need a few more bells and whistles.
D-Boys AK-74U
You've probably seen my photos of how the fore-end broke off - conveniently, Jason had a spare VFC AK-74U body with broken lower, and he simply swapped the upper/fore-end over to my AK-74U. I no longer want to sell it for parts, but will keep it to run and gun with.
Cost
$50 for parts and repair of the M933, as well as replacing the furniture on my AK. A very reasonable price considering the work done, and I will be sure to do business with ATS again in the future.
