I've been fantasizing about this plate carrier I saw come out not too long ago for a while and finally got around to ordering one. I tried Google'ing some reviews, but all that came up are Chinese replicas of not even the same pc because they decide to throw "USMC ARMY" on everything. So has anyone had any experience with this plate carrier? I figured I couldn't go too wrong on a 1000D plate carrier made by JAG so I bought it. I know the denier count is just as important as the stitching, but seems legit. Here's where a found it from: www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?products_id=10142

That PC isn't even close to what the Marines are using. You'd want either an SPC or an MTV/IMTV. What you've got is essentially the Condor/OE Tech MOPC, which is mediocre. I'm sure the Marines licensed it because it's advertising for them, not because it's anything like the PCs they use. You could have gotten the same thing without the USMC tag for about $50 less, or a better vest for about the same amount.
In the future, you should probably ask before you buy, rather than after. Sorry to piss in your cheerios.

I know this...Civilians can't buy MTV's and I'm sure as hell not dropping $800 on a SPC. I was in need of a smaller plate carrier anyways to replace the one I have.
I've seen pictures of Marines with this PC on. I know it's not what they used today and I don't really care for that.

I have one and my brother in law is a marine, he has taken his tour of duty back in '07. He said that is nearly the same pc he wore on his tour in Afghanistan. He also said that this is not what is being issued today but back between late '06 early '07 that is what was issued. I hope I don't sound like an arrogant punk but this is what I know about that specific plate carrier.

I think what Knief is saying is that, asides from this not currently issued, you could've gotten this same PC for less, and that you are paying for the brand name. The same style vest is made by several companies, and quality also changes from company to company, this would be on the lower end, and for the price you could've gotten the same vest, but better brand and quality, just without the "USMC" markings.

Da Vinci : (too lazy to quote again) If it is OE TECH-ish quality, it'll do for now. If I love it as much as I hope I will maybe I'll invest in a higher quality version, but then again I'm attached to these trademarks for some reason (Marine Corps fanatic : . Knief; I apologize if I sounded like a snob in my first comment. I got offended for whatever reason because you magically didn't know what I failed to mention in my OP. I shoulda mentioned I wasn't aiming for a 2012 USMC look.

You guys have pictures of Marines wearing this in any era? I'll thumb through my pics when I get a chance, but I don't believe this vest was ever issued. The SPC is sort of similar in shape if you're just talking about a ballpark, but that doesn't make it very close in my book. I'm sticking with that wonderful internet adage, pics or it didn't happen.
[edit] Also, MTV began being issued in 2006/2007, SPC in 2008. Those are the two vests to use if you're going for that era.

The vest the OP linked to is just a poor facsimile of the SPC. To be fair, Pantac's SPC was also a terrible facsimile and Pantac is supposed to be good at copying gear... You're also not going to find a real SPC for $80-$120. Replica, sure. I owned the "Weekend Warrior" ACM replica available through Ebairsoft (or any other ACM shop). It's a faithful replica and cost around $100. Here's a pic of my former "Weekend Warrior" SPC replica: You can find real SPCs on Ebay, etc for $200+. Here are some comparison shots to help: OTV MTV SPC SPC (Front)
