While I hate to post a thread asking for opinions, I feel this is the only way to make sure my money has been invested wisely, and that I end up with a product I want.
To make it short, my current vest setup has failed on me, and is no longer a viable option in games. I had planned on a plate carrier setup in the future, but as situations changed, I've moved that purchasing date up to the present. I have ran through pages of topics on them on MIA as well as a few other forums and information sources, and have narrowed it down to a few options that I've liked, but I'm looking for any personal experiences with them, as I have never used a plate carrier(if that is the correct
term for all the options I found) and would like any advice I can muster.
A bit of background is useful I've noted, so I'll try to describe my loadout in regards to what I would be tossing on the carriers. I run an M4, and about 6+1 mags on average with the rig, as well as a few pistol mags, and once received, a few grenades as well. No really impression is being pursued, as I mostly play indoors, and basically need a place to hold my mags, and nothing else. That said I am looking to do a few outdoor games, and scenarios in the future, so I figure the extra space on the carrier would be advantageous to those means.
Now, the Carriers I've looked into have been a bit of a mix. I favor those with a full back panel(although this is not used for anything on my current vest), and with a cumberland (I believe that is the correct term). The ones I have found to my personal liking are listed below.
My personal favorite thus far is the G TMC CAG Armor Chassis
I like the design and the base model(Crye CAGE Chassis). It also looks like it might be a lot more comfortable then the best I've been using.
I was able to find a few reviews on their products with not so good views. That said I'm still interested in one based on the CAGE design if they do exist, I have been unable to find a suitable imitation however.
Ive also been looking at the Flyye 6094 Link
I know Flyye is generally regarded as a good brand, but I was wondering if anyone has fielded one and their opinion on it.
At this point, I would really like to go with the CAGE design, however it appears that there are very few imitations of it available, and I'm unsure if the brand being offered is worth the money. I'm open to ideas if anyone would have one to offer, and willing to spend the money on a quality piece of gear.
Short Version: Looking for opinions on the gear listed.
