Ok so I recently bought a Magpul AKM with a CCW thread and I assumed that the flash hinder would come off. This thing is as tuff as nails and won't budge. I have been unscrewing the right way (made sure more than once) with a vice grip and wrench. I have tried heating it with hair dryer (saw on youtube) and I got about two rotations out of it but it just got stuck again. What do you guys suggest I do to remove this darn thing?

If it got stuck, try spinning the opposite way and back a few times, it'll clear the threads of any junk that's shredded off. Use a heat gun (blow dryer on steroids) to heat it up fairly hot and melt the glue underneath, which should then let you safely remove the flash hider. If you're never going to use it again, completely destroying it wouldn't be that difficult, assuming it's plastic.

I'm not sure how AKM flashhiders work, but I would check for a set screw. That could be holding it in.

It already is destroyed for it is all mangled. Could I just cut it off?
