Has anyone had this happen?
How about parts, if I make one custom and therefore order the parts is there a chance it could be seized?
What should I do if it is seized, in order to still get it?

There is always a risk when ordering overseas. It comes with the territory.
Aside from asking the retailer to tape over or putty the trademarks, no there is nothing you can do.
Once your items are seized by customs there is nothing you or anyone else can do to get them back.

When it is just parts, would covering the trademarks make a difference?

It might, it might not. When you import stuff that has unlicensed trademarks you always run the risk of customs inspecting your package and having your item seized. They've even been known to seize properly licensed items too, just because they can. I imagine there's a lot of customs agent's kids with some really cool airsoft swag.
What specifically were you looking to order that was trademarked? Upper and lower receivers, mock silencer, what?
There's not really much you can do to minimize your risk other than just not ordering overseas. Some people say ordering trademarked items by themselves makes it easier to slip through opposed to ordering it in a larger order, some people say it makes no difference. Customs doesn't inspect every package, but if yours is randomly selected you're boned regardless.

Some oversees retailers (Airsoft Global) gives you the option of shipping the gun in two separate packages (usually just shipping the upper and lower in separate shipments) they do charge an additional $30 however.
I've ordered parts (i.e mock silencers w U.S. Govt trademarks, AEGs with full trademarks) from HK retailers and never had anything seized or had the trademarks removed/altered. Most of it was also quite a while ago and most likely happened before U.S. Customs started cracking down on airsoft stuff.
As CQBR mentioned retailers such as Ehobby Asia will throw e-tape or putty on guns with trades (usually at the buyer's request). But as already mentioned by both CQBR and Thor nothing is guaranteed.

My plan was to order from Airsoft Global, so that might be a good solution. What would I have them ship seperate though? What specifically were you looking to order that was trademarked? Upper and lower receivers, mock silencer, what? I was going to get everything required to make a gas blowback rifle, but the items with trades include: VLTOR FlashhiderVLTOR Body (Complete)CTR StockMOE GripSplitting the upper and lower wouldn't be worth it because they both have trades.

The body is probably the only thing you would have to worry about.
The magpul stuff will come in a magpul box probably, and the flash hider trades will hardly be visable.
You do know you can buy a RS CTR stock and MOE grip for cheaper than that in the states right?

If they are legally trademarked, is there any way to bring the law down on the customs officer that seized it? Because all they are doing is stealing, especially if it's legal.

You can try to call someone to appeal, but the problem with Customs is that 99% of the time the people you are going to be dealing with are either: A) Stupid B) Lazy C) Assholes D) All of the above As far as I'm aware they have broad discretion on what they can and cannot seize, which is why some people have things seized and others do not. It is as much dependent on where your items come through customs as it is who is actually doing the inspecting.

That's too good to be real. This is why we need a thread full of dealers that have good prices like this! Thanks!

The price on the grip is pretty standard, but Magpul just dropped the price on the CTR stock. It's even listed on their webstore for $79.99, but they're not currently shipping private sales, only to dealers.
