In my search for a pistol holster I decided just to make my own out of Kydex just for kicks. Here is my very first attempt at creating a M9 Kydex Holster. All shaped and painted: Backside: Bend in order to place on my hip: Belt loops are still to be made. Will update in a few days with the finished product. Let me know what you think!

Personally I think the shape is a bit weird, but the definition should work great.

What thickness did you use? Did you pick up the kydex from Knifekits.com?

Yes I did, I used the .060 thickness sheets. My only problem was I didn't have a laser thermostat so it didn't mold too well to the pistol.

I think next time you could cut down on the area of kydex. Its pretty gigantic. The molding looks good though.

They sell the thermo gun at Harbor freight for like 30.00. Its a very useful tool to have just all around but worked great when I made my holster for my USP MATCH.
That and get a dreamal to cut away the excess and a cheep belt sander from Harbor freight and you can shape the plastic better once you have formed it.

Or just score and snap before even heating it *shrugs*

Well I trimmed it up a bit, and added some belt loops. The belt loops aren't the best but they work for the time being, will be running it this weekend and see how it works. Only problem is that it's a bit tough to get in and out of the holster. Not sure if that will be easier as it is used more or not.

Sounds like you might need to relax the definition in some areas that are binding the most. Use a heat gun for that. Ejection port is one of the big culprits. Also if you're having an issue reholstering you might want to flare the top a little. It also doesn't look like you have a good front sight channel.

If you're worried about messing up your gun too, Botach has good prices on Blue Guns. I'm not sure of the quality if their exactly 1:1 in every single aspect, you'd have to do some research on your own for that. www.botachtactical.com/blgusigsap2w1.html

From what I hear, the red guns hold up better than the blue ones, for making kydex holsters.
