Hi, my brother has a JG AK47. A part broke in the gearbox, so I opened it up and fixed it. But when I was putting the gearbox into the receiver I couldn't figure out how to align the selector switch right. When switched to safe, it was safe. When I flipped it down to auto, it was still on safe. Then semi auto would work and auto would work when I switched to it from semi. I think I'm just aligning the selector bars wrong. Any suggestions?
Thanks,

Yes, align the selector bars correctly.

I think he's asking what the correct way is.

yeah, I was wondering, how do align it? I've set it a bunch of times and none seem to work.

I'd like to bump this thread as I am having word-for-word the exact same problem with my AK. How does fix?

Bump for an update: Tore apart the gearbox and shimmed and lubed it, and made sure all the little selector bits and such were perfectly aligned, shot just the gearbox with the selector switch on (outside of lower receiver) and it appeared to work fine. Put it in the receiver, doesn't work. Halp?

Same as my friend's AK is having, works fine as long as you don't drop it into the body...

I made sure all of the wiring was out of the way, so it isn't from those snagging. When it's in the body and is switched from semi to auto, it still shoots semi. If I then move it about halfway between auto and safe, then back down to auto, it'll shoot automatic, but will have one of various issues. One, the trigger will have an extremely distinct "click" while pulling it back before it fires, which it doesn't do in any other position. Then, it'll stop shooting and the gearbox will make a strange sound, nothing like it locking up, motor height too low, or gears grinding. Some times it'll work fine after putting it halfway then back, other times it won't.

Does anybody have any idea on how to fix this? It works fine in semi, but it shoots under 300 and is going to be my CQB gun, so auto is kind of a needed thing.
