Soooo, I felt like painting, and I've never tried a snakeskin type of paintjob. Any suggestions, feedback, or tips? CYMA M14 SOCOM with metal scope mount, and real steel scope. Don't know the brand and varient the scope is off of the top of my head, but if somebody insists I'll go check. It was used on a .22.

I would try toning it back a bit. Maybe use a larger net patern. But I'm not the best judge of snakeskin seeing as how I don't care for it much.

Looks pretty good, but I would definitely add some brown into it. And sir, you need a flash hider. *EDIT* I'd also move the scope rings, they look kind of funky the way they are now.

Nice paint, also, how do you like the gun?

I like it. I think a little bit of brown dusting would make it look even better.

Vigil, I had that in mind when I did it. Unfortunatly, I only have burlap on hand. I want to try it with a net of some sort. Myers, yeah yeah yeah, excuse my lack of flash hider. And I'll move them in a little bit. I was kind of in a rush to take some pictures so I slapped it back on. Team UAD, thanks. I like the gun a lot, actually. CYMA is a clone company, but I really like the M14. When you adjust the hop up to how you need it, the gun shoots pretty straight. Th ROF is a little slower. It's probably around 750 to 800 RPS, but I fire semi-auto most of the time so it doesn't bother me. It's all stock and firing around 370 FPS. I suggest a TBB, though, if you get it..

It is well done for a first attempt, I would try using a larger netting and more brown (or green if that's the color you have your heart set on) and don't do the whole gun snakeskin, just do bits here and there. But otherwise, well done

Thanks, ArcAngel. I have both brown and green paint, also. I might try both out on a piece of cardboard and then try the one I like better on my gun. More pictures: (Sorry for the horrible quality)

Hey man, don't listen to me. Take some advice from somebody who actually prefers snakeskin. I just thought the wider pattern would make it more appealing to me. I cant remember who, but I think one of the Hellfish had a pretty good snakeskin pattern on a m24 or r700.

I think it might be Ghast..? Anyways, I see where you're coming from. Most snakeskin paintjobs are much more larger when it comes to the pattern. But like I said, burlap was the only thing at hand today.
EDIT: And personally, I like it. So I'll most likely keep it.

Cool, at the end of the day, she's your rifle. If you like it, nobody else can make you change it.

Vigil, that's the most truthful thing about weapon paintjobs.
