I just received a maruzen p99, and it doesnt work so well, but doesn't bother me because i only spent 20 dollars in raffle tickets on it. The problem is the blowback action does not work, the gas will fire the bb like normal with normal range and accuracy, but the slide will push back about half an inch each time so that to rack another bb you have to treat it like a springer. But if you point it straight down it will go farther but not all the way. It is not the mags, Ive checked all 3 and they all work. Ive taken it down a couple times and it looks like the piston for the blowback chamber rests all the way forward against the front of the chamber in the loading nozzle. Ive read a couple different stories with acouple different solutions but they all deal with the mags. Any help would be apprieciated, also suggestions for replacement parts or if you have any to sell would be apprieciated.

First off, I'm jealous. I love the P99, most comfortable pistol I've ever held.
Second, are you using propane in it? My first thought would be that the hammer spring isn't strong enough to run propane. Try testing it with duster. Can you pull the cylinder forward easily? If the bb shoots out your rocket valve is OK, the fact that it doesn't spray gas makes me think your disconnector and hammer are moving. It sounds like your hammer is being disconnected too early, or not enough gas is entering the cylinder.

It could be caused by propane if you're using it (light-striking perhaps). Also, the magazine catch tends to wear out fairly quickly, which causes the magazine to sit too low to make a good seal with the blow back unit. Last I checked there was a stickied thread on ASF about it.
I owned a Maruzen P99 awhile ago and even though I love P99s, it just wasn't worth the trouble in my eyes.
