I'm going to keep this simple with three sustains and three improves. This is by no means an exhaustive list. Instead it will focus on the main topics that are relevent.
-Sustains-
1. The field- It was very well made and allowed for dynamic control of the field by both teams. There were very few choke points which would have caused two teams to stare at each other and take turns shooting. Flanking was crucial to being successful. I would definitely return to this field for future games.
2. Giving discounts for prepaying- This greatly reduced the amount of people not showing up. Had there not been incentives to prepay then I can almost guarantee that attendance would have been lower related to the poor weather.
3. Requiring a minimum age of 18 years old- In my experience the vast majority of players under the age of 18 are not mature enough for a milsim game. They have no motivation to complete objectives and are only focused on getting "kills". By having those that were under 18 have to be approved by a senior member it allowed the few underage players who have demonstrated maturity in the past a chance to play.
-Improves-
1. Pregame organization- I understand that real life did get in the way of organizing the event so I will give the organizers a one time excuse. First off there were definite issues with paypal. The address in which people will be sending money is the most important thing to be double checked before posting and it was still incorrect. Then to make matters worse I was told that if I did not show proof that I payed then I would have to pay again. Proof is 100% the responsibility of the organizers and not the players. Having the roster on the first page would have also reduced a lot of clutter in the main thread.
2. Lack of maps- I understand that this was supposed to be part of the game, however it caused much more harm than good. Players had no idea where the boundaries were since they could not refer to a map and no real world boundaries were in place. Also, players did not know where the opposing team's respawn was. I personally was spawn camping without knowing it until a green player informed me that I was near respawn. I then broke contact and walked back. It also made issuing orders damn near impossible since no one knew where anything was, further creating chaos.
3. Poor enforcement of rules and control- Even if players did begin to spawn camp it should have been dealt with immediately by the refs. This did not happen. Hit calling, overkill, and the poor attitudes as a result were directly influenced by the inability of the refs to intervene when they should have.
-Closing statements-
1. Overall I did have a great time. I did not complete any objectives since I never received any, however I did send plenty of green back to respawn. I was hit 5 times and took out 24 green so overall it was a very fun day. I will give the event organizers one more chance and if these issues persist then I will not attend another game held by them.
2. IceKatt- I am going to restrain myself as much as possible to keep things civil but since you are a 20 year old civvie telling actual military members to not wear the rank that we earned feel free to golf foxtrot yankee. That is all.

Real quick on the military devices. If (IF!!) you earned it wear it! this is why I DO NOT wear military devices of any kind.
FTF 2 was an 'experience'. Although I had a great time as usual and got to meet some nice people, there were a lot of issues with bad sportsmanship on both sides. I saw many hits NOT called, inappropriate words being exchanged to both sides, people quitting middle of the game and lack of organization. Moreover, I just want to say that if ANYBODY had any issue with me NOT calling my hits that they should have just politely said "I hit you!" and I would call my own ass out. If it's one thing I hate is dishonorable people playing our sport and ruining it for everyone else. For the love of god its a freakin' game!
On a much more positive note, one thing that i did see good (in fact AWESOME!) was the camaraderie between players. I saw players helping each other out when it was sorely needed. I myself experienced it personally when I was hit at the neutral zone. I fell down (and sorry I forgot your name) called for a medic. a fellow team mate PICKED ME UP under heavy fire, took me to a medic and got hit saving me! Now that is some serious balls! much props to you! X, tank, I and one other player had a awesome first half doing the "SUPER FLANK" hahaha. We were so far lost, we needed a GPS to get out. I saw EVERYONE helping each other.
field/weather conditions were miserable......Just they way it ought to be. you really get to who actually has the balls to handle it and who doesn't. I was very impressed to see so many of you stick to the very end. much props to those who stayed!
My overall rating for FTF2 is 7 out of 10.
bad hit calling unsportsmanlike conduct unfavorable field conditions Good camaraderie acts of valor good lifesaving good tactics excellent player durability

That is all. Im not telling you to do anything. Im simply stating an opinion that id rather not see rankings like that on the field. If someone tells a heroic war story about how they recieved their ranks or medals thats fine. But if some guy says he got them for having so many kills in airsoft or just because he went out and bought them, quite frankly if i was in the service and i heard him say that I'd be telling him to golf foxtrot yankee. Just an opinion people, lets all calm down and get along.

I feel I must explain the Vader helmet. I was brought in last minute to referee and then was made green C.O. I had no camo and no weapons other than a mac11 and a nerf double barrel (which I did get kills with!) So since I was already gonna look goofy as hell why not complete it by being the dark lord. The event really did feel rushed and last minute, the objectives I received were mostly "occupy the ___" I gotta say, Nadia, you guys were awesome. As soon as I gave you an objective or a mission you completed it flawlessly. The one mission in particular was the downed pilot. I had just received the order and had just relayed it to green when out of nowhere who should show up but two of my men carrying the down pilot! Amazing work guys! Please don't judge my entire milsim career off of this one event. When I actually attend one to play I do not carry nerf or Darth Vader gear. All in all I had a blast, so sore from that freezing rain but it was worth it Final note, did everyone enjoy my final charge on the village?

The charge was fun as he'll. Felt like Sparta...
Livonia, that was a wonderful shot you made when you shot the town lady with the bat, we all heard the hit and heard her call it. That wa a highlight for me.
Well done NADIA

This was my second year going to this event. I did enjoy myself a lot but not as much as last year. I haven't been to enough games yet so i cant say much accept it was hard to distinguish who was in command positions and who wasn't. Also in relation to command positions, it seemed as if communication was at times low or not there at all. I think this is due to lack of radio channels offered. Unfortunately my gun went down with 1 and a half hours to go so I missed the last push on the village but had fun till then non the less.

I would like to say that myself and the helljumpers had lots of fun.
A big thanks to Tino and Puggy for making the game happen. I think we all need to remember that despite organizational problems the game still happened and we got to play at a great field. So thanks to all the great people who made that possible .
I also would like to thank the villagers and NPCs for a great performance I think it added a lot to the game.
thank you to Splatmandu for letting us play on your great field. To all the players thank you for a fun game.
I have some video from my helmet cam that I will post a link to soon.
Thanks to all and I hope that there will be more games at Splatmandu.

Alright even though this thread has already been derailed hopefully I can address the problem going on with it so future readers dont get the wrong idea. At first I was saying how I don't think people should wear rankings or medals or whatever in an airsoft game because it seems to me like disrespect for the men and women in our armed services that earned them. After thinking about it I wouldn't mind at all if you are in the armed services and are wearing your uniforms or rankings during a game. But then again how can it be told if your actually in the armed services or your just some guy that went and bought them because you got so many kills in airsoft or thats your rank in Modern Warfare or whatever. While I'm not going to go around interrogating every player with ranks on asking them war stories, I just think players not in the armed services shouldn't wear rankings or service medals of any kind while playing a sport. If your in the armed services and want to wear your rankings out on the field thats fine. I just hope you do serve our country and aren't some guy who just bought them because you won so many rounds of airsoft.
Your not a certain because you got so many kills in airsoft, you receive that rank if you've devoted your time to serving your country and demonstrated outstanding skills to achieve said ranking. Im simply annoyed with people who wear ranks and medals that have not served in the armed services.
This is just my opinion on the subject. Our soldiers are fighting to protect our freedoms right? So please stop insulting me, sending me hate messages, and threatening me because I use my freedom of speech and share an opinion on how I feel about seeing military rankings and medals on people in a sport. I wont ask people if i see them wearing anything in future games, I just hope they actually earned them in their service to our country, and didn't just buy them cheaply and throw them on.

Absolutely a terrible idea. He expressed his opinion and has in turn received a helluva tongue lashing. My own personal opinions aside, let it die.

Ill back off. Not a argument that should be made public anyway. I admit terrible idea on my part. I just get defensive about my job and how people treat me and my brothers. Rank is something you earn, its never given. Its made clear when that rank is punched into your chest or pinned upon your collar. I should never have jumped in. Carry on bro.

Rank is something you earn, its never given. Its made clear when that rank is punched into your chest or pinned upon your collar. I should never have jumped in. Carry on bro. Understandably so, but as I said, he's taken a helluva tongue lashing. Anything that can be said on the matter has pretty much been said, there's no point in continuing to attack him. More on topic: The majority of my concerns with the game have been brought up, there's no reason for me to beat a dead horse. My major concern however is the sportsmanship I saw both on and off the field. I'll concede, as anyone on tan can probably testify to, that I'm no angel either- at one point during the course of the day, I blew my top and chewed a moderator's ear off. I later in the day pulled him aside, apologized and thanked him for his patience. Dude, you know who you are and you rock. The problems I saw with sportsmanship really upset me, not at individuals but at the way that we as a community conducted ourselves. On a number of occassions, at close range on open terrain, myself and others traded rounds and hit each other at about the same time. I offered that we both just accept the hit and call for medics/ respawn. Throughout the course of the day, I had 2 people accept this, I wandered back to respawn while their medics picked them up. But there were several more that I offered this argument free solution to, and they claimed "That's F-ing BS, I shot you first" (censored now that we're back in civilization ). But the one that really got me was that spawn-camping had suddenly become okay. Now, both Tank and his crew as well as my group found their spawn point and unwittingly shot their dead guys, and upon being informed it was their spawn, we took off and left their spawn alone. Green team was pretty upset about it when we accidentally spawn camped them, and then turned around and camped tan team for well over an hour. At what point did winning mean that the victors had to ruin the day for the opposition and keep them trapped in the spawn point? Now, I'm not here to point fingers and say green sucks or tan should have won, or any shit like that. But frankly, I'm disappointed, moreso than anything. I'm disappointed because we have come together for the Lionclaws game, we are going to play under one banner as one unit and I'll tell you all this here and now that the behavior displayed on both sides and even on my own part is absolutely shameful. I would be ashamed and embarrassed to be a part of a crew that displayed what we did yesterday at a Lionclaws game. I think we've all got some thinking to do about the way we will be portraying ourselves to the rest of the airsoft community that will be coming to our home state, before we take the field as one team. From the shit that went down on the field yesterday, to the comments people are slinging back and forth at one another like the need to put down purses before picking up rifles, or calling each other "fucking retarded", this is getting ridiculous and is absolutely deplorable behavior. Hopefully we ALL shape up before June, and keep from making asses out of our community as a whole on a national level. -S. Wolf

So what you are telling me is you're more upset with what people said than what people did to cause the backlash?
I'd be more worried about the playstyle than the language used. Just saying. On another note I know the rest of Team RAGE and myself had a good time slingin bbs with you green folk.

Wolf, I could not agree more with your last comment. We as a community need to stop badgering eachother like that. Personnaly, I think if someone wants to bring a foam sword, rock it out! If someone does not call thier hits, forget it and move on! At the end of the day it's all a game and we as adult should be able to shake the hands of our opposition and say good job. Let not get too carried away with our emotions, and look at the game for what it is!
FTF 2 was still fun no matter how you look at it. It's not everyday we all get to play. Some of us have to work for a living and airsoft is our idea of receration.
BTW: If anyone has an issue with my "foam sword" feel free to send me a message. I will be more than happy to explain how tans issues had nothing to do with the "foam sword".
